Sen Kaibara

Sen's eyes give him away first, black with white pupils and set thin enough that he always looks half-bored. His shaggy dark brown hair sits at average length on an average frame, athletic in the modest way most of his classmates are, with a light tan over it.

The costume commits hard to a theme. A white windbreaker carries four grommets threaded with spiral tubing, and the dark blue undershirt below rings the collar, hem, and sleeves with drill patterns. White sweatpants repeat those rings horizontally up to the thigh, red holsters hang at both hips off the midsection, and brown shoes finish it. Fingerless gloves patterned with spirals cover his hands.

Eight years on he has grown taller and cut his hair short, and the palette warms: the windbreaker turns brown, the trousers beige.

Sen keeps an even keel. He stays composed and on task through most of what the school throws at him and reads as one of the less colorful personalities in his year, content to drift with whatever the situation is and untroubled by classmates who would rather push against it. That easiness stops at his opinions, which he voices freely and will defend out loud without hesitating.

Next to Neito Monoma he looks positively grown up. During the Cavalry Battle he told Neito to stop needling Katsuki Bakugo and pay attention to what they were supposed to be doing. The seriousness does slip on occasion, as it did when he faced Mashirao Ojiro in the Joint Training Battle and let his excitement show. He also has a combative streak and a habit of being swept into whatever his friends have started. Supplementary material calls him an ikemen for his looks and hands him the title of Class 1-B's quip master, describing his temperament as amenable. Cameras are a personal interest.

Gyrate lets Sen spin any portion of his body at high speed, turning limbs into drills, and the value of it lies in what it does to an ordinary punch. He has real technique in close quarters and layers the rotation on top of it, so his strikes arrive grinding rather than merely landing. The Joint Training Battle's third round saw him drive that style at Mashirao Ojiro, a trained martial artist, and put him on his back foot.

His Drill Gloves multiply the effect. The spiral tread on them bites when it turns, cutting into whatever he hits, and it makes blocking him with anything solid a poor idea rather than a defense. Away from combat, he is bilingual, following Pony and Juzo's English without difficulty.
