Takami

Brown feathers grow along both of Takami's arms, the same tone as the plumage that would later fill his son's wings. He is tall and past his youth, with gold-brown eyes set beneath thin eyebrows that grow in patchy, and his beard does the same. One of his front teeth is chipped. The clearest family resemblance is in the hair: brown, shoved carelessly backward, exactly the way Keigo wears it. A dark jacket over dark trousers is the extent of his wardrobe.

Greed for money came first, and a man died for pocket change because of it. What life on the run made of Takami afterward was worse: paranoid, permanently drunk, and quick to turn violent on whoever was nearest. Tomie kept the law off him for years, and he repaid it with nothing. Her collapsing mental state did not register with him, and his response to it was to demand she line up his next job. He treated her pregnancy as something she had done to him, and eventually said aloud that leaning on her at all had been an error.

Toward Keigo he was worse still. Convinced the boy would run to the police, he confined him to the house, and when Keigo did step outside he was accused of informing on the spot, denials notwithstanding. Turning his back on his father was enough to earn a kick. In Takami's accounting his son was only ever a weight on him, a burden he blamed for the loss of a freedom he imagined he would otherwise have had.

Takami's life as a criminal was based in Fukuoka, in Kyushu, until the day he took a man's life for the small change in his pocket. That put him and Tomie on the run. The pair went to ground in a decaying house and scraped by there, with Takami leaning on Tomie's Quirk, which produced an extra eyeball, to keep the authorities in view. Somewhere in those years the two of them conceived a child they had not planned for, and Keigo was born.

One day Takami noticed the boy had slipped out into town, and rounded on him demanding to know who he had spoken to. Keigo answered flatly that a tingling in his wings had sent him out to check on something and that no one had seen him. His father did not believe a word, and ordered him never to leave or speak to an outsider again. Tomie interrupted to say the television had stopped working, which he ignored in favor of pressing her for his next job. Then, finding Keigo kneeling against a wall, he kicked him and shouted that the boy was never to turn his back on him. He finished by declaring that Tomie's Quirk had been a mistake to lean on and that her never giving birth would have left him a free man, while she weakly begged him not to go.

The end came when he tried to steal a car and run. Endeavor, then the No. 2 Hero, caught him. Handing him over at the station, Endeavor asked the officers aloud whether they thought All Might would have managed it faster, then warned them plainly about how dangerous the man in their cells was before leaving. That reputation, and that warning, are most of what is known about Takami's strength. His own Quirk left feathers across his arms, and it is reasonable to assume he fought with them much as his son later would, though the specifics were never recorded.
