Tsubasa is a childhood companion of Katsuki Bakugo whose Quirk sprouts crimson dragon wings from his back. Grandson of the physician later exposed as Kyudai Garaki, he joined in the bullying of the Quirkless Izuku Midoriya before drifting out of both boys' lives during middle school.
Flashbacks show a round-faced, heavyset boy whose brown hair is clipped down to little more than stubble. Two scarlet wings of a draconic cut unfold from his back whenever he wills them out.
His childhood outfit is simple: a tank top, shorts in green, and geta on his feet.
The series says little about him beyond his conduct as a child, and that conduct was unkind. Alongside Katsuki he made a habit of belittling and roughing up Izuku Midoriya once the latter was declared Quirkless.
He belonged to the small circle of boys, Izuku included, who looked up to Katsuki for seeming to master anything he attempted. Once Explosion manifested, Tsubasa fell in behind him and helped target other children, chief among them the Quirkless Izuku.
He was there for the trip into a forbidden stretch of forest that Katsuki insisted on exploring despite Izuku's reluctance. Katsuki tumbled into the water below, and Izuku's attempt to help him up landed as an insult, setting off years of torment.
The group drifted apart with age, and by middle school neither Katsuki nor Izuku was still in touch with him. His wings carry him in flight, and his name is simply the Japanese word for wing. Since his grandfather turns out to be the man who builds the Nomu, the story hints strongly that Tsubasa became the Winged Nomu.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Tsubasa is a childhood friend of Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia, a boy whose Quirk grows crimson dragon wings from his back, and the grandson of Kyudai Garaki, the physician who later builds the Nomu.
My Hero Academia never confirms it outright, but the story strongly hints that Tsubasa, whose grandfather Kyudai Garaki builds the Nomu, became the Winged Nomu.
Tsubasa's name is simply the Japanese word for wing, a fitting name for a boy whose Quirk sprouts a pair of crimson dragon wings from his back.
As a child, Tsubasa joined Katsuki Bakugo in bullying and belittling the Quirkless Izuku Midoriya, part of the small circle of boys who looked up to Katsuki.
Tsubasa and Katsuki Bakugo drifted apart as they grew older, and by middle school neither Katsuki nor Izuku Midoriya was still in touch with him.
