Summary

Warned by Tenya on the way in, All Might arrives already stripped of his tie and jacket, announcing that everything will be fine because he has come. He crosses the central plaza in an eyeblink, scoops up the wounded Eraser Head, and flattens the villains around him. Izuku, Tsuyu, and Minoru are plucked away from Tomura and Nomu and set down at a safe distance with instructions to run. Izuku tries to warn him about the creature's durability, but the answer is the same reassurance as always.

Carolina Smash lands and accomplishes nothing, because Nomu simply drinks the force. Tomura happily explains the shock absorption and the purpose behind it: this thing exists to kill All Might. Betting on attrition instead, All Might drives him into the ground with a reverse suplex. Minoru cheers while hauling their teacher toward the exit; Izuku, who knows about the time limit, only worries.

Kurogiri rescues the monster mid-slam, opening a portal that leaves half of Nomu elsewhere and lets the other half clamp onto All Might's injured side while the mist drags him in. Izuku charges to help and is intercepted, but Katsuki blindsides Kurogiri with an explosion and pins him by the metal collar hiding his real body, threatening to detonate if he twitches. Shoto freezes Nomu solid, having learned the plan from a talkative criminal, and the ice gives All Might the leverage to tear free. Eijiro's swing at Tomura misses its mark.

Ordered to retrieve Kurogiri, Nomu shatters out of the ice and regrows its missing limbs, and All Might takes the blow meant for Katsuki. Tomura lectures about the violence heroes have inflicted on the world; All Might dismisses it as posturing without a cause. Then he pushes past one hundred percent, trading strikes at a speed that keeps everyone else away, hurls the monster down from height, leaves it with a two-word lesson in Plus Ultra, and blasts it clean out of the facility. Three hundred punches, he admits afterward, where five would once have done it.

Key Events

All Might rescues Eraser Head and the three students trapped at the plaza, then engages Nomu directly.

Tomura reveals Nomu's Shock Absorption and states plainly that the creature was engineered to kill the Symbol of Peace.

Katsuki identifies and exploits Kurogiri's weakness, pinning the physical body concealed inside the mist by its neck armor. Shoto freezes Nomu, and Eijiro joins the fight.

All Might exceeds one hundred percent to out-pace Nomu's absorption, ending the fight with a dynamic smash that launches the monster out of the U.S.J. He then declares the League of Villains finished.

Notes

The twelfth episode adapts Chapter 18 and Chapter 19, running under the opening THE DAY and the ending HEROES.

The staff softened and expanded several beats. Tsuyu fully extracts Izuku from danger and holds him above the water, where the manga only had her tongue reach his waist before All Might appeared, and Minoru announces they are saved rather than just shouting the name. New illustrations explain how Kurogiri intended to close his gate on All Might and how the mist conceals his body. Minoru and Tsuyu comment on the arrival of Katsuki, Shoto, and Eijiro, Ochaco and Rikido help carry the injured Aizawa, and Thirteen tells Mina to hide until staff arrive.

The climax is substantially longer on screen, with more varied choreography between the first and last exchanges. On the page the opening shockwave barely moves Izuku and pushes Tomura back a few steps, while the anime throws every bystander dozens of meters and cuts to Katsuki, Eijiro, and Shoto reacting to the speed. Reactions from Fumikage, Koji, Mashirao, and Minoru's group to the finishing blow are also new.
