Episode 12 (Vigilantes)

Teruo's rampage has blacked out the neighborhood, stalling Narufest and FeatherHATS' debut. Eraser Head phones Midnight to report the villain captured and warns the show may be scrapped outright. With the transformers days from repair and the store's generators inadequate, Midnight explains the heroes are legally limited to calling the event off and clearing the crowd. Captain Celebrity flying past with two civilians in his arms gives Makoto an idea instead. She sends her boss hunting for generators and, unable to borrow Present Mic, accepts Koichi's suggestion: The Crawler slides up the building with Pop's street microphone, and the girl takes the stage on half an hour's notice. Nervous and stumbling, she still keeps the audience calm, routes the sick and the restless toward staff with help from Ichimoku, Jube, and her regulars, and caps it with a song.

In the alleys, Knuckleduster corners an exhausted Kuin, taking a call from the medical center about a change in his wife's condition mid-pursuit. Trapped, Kuin has her bees inject her own Trigger supply. He recognizes the gamble at once: Queen Bee runs on a hive mind linking the host's brain to the parasites in her eye, and Trigger dulls cognition, so the network frays and the real occupant surfaces. Tamao remembers the night she left, an argument about music and a concert, her father's absence thrown in his face, and the bee-jacketed stranger who found her crying by a vending machine. She screams at him for a lifetime of shouting instead of listening, and he tells her to let it out. Then Kuin, powered by Trigger drained from Teruo, drives electrified claws through his chest.

The power returns and FeatherHATS finally perform. Kuin, arm ruined by her own recoil, turns toward the concert and finds Knuckleduster standing behind her, a cord hanging out of his chest. He tells her not to spoil the show, because his daughter will get a stage of her own. He breaks her with a gut punch and a taser hook, pulls the swollen queen out of Tamao's eye socket with tweezers, and lures the workers to a pheromone charge that kills them all. The AED built into his weapon, commissioned from Giran, restarted his own heart; now he uses it on his daughter and begins compressions. Elsewhere, Eraser Head lets Teruo watch the end of the show and tells Naomasa this feels like more than a Trigger bender, mentioning the bee. Nearby, a scarred man in a police jumpsuit blurs after the one surviving bee and jars it, pleased with his data.

Makoto keeps Narufest alive by handing the stage to Pop☆Step, who holds an anxious crowd for thirty minutes and wins them over before FeatherHATS finally debut.

Knuckleduster defeats Kuin Hachisuka, extracts the parasitic queen bee from Tamao's eye socket, and destroys the swarm with a pheromone charge.

The mechanics of Queen Bee are explained: a hive mind between host and parasites that degrades under Trigger, letting the original personality resurface.

Tamao's disappearance is shown in flashback, including the argument with her father and her encounter with the Quirk's previous host.

Knuckleduster revives his daughter using the AED he had Giran build into his Taser Knuckle. Eraser Head reports the bee to Naomasa, linking it to the Instant Villain outbreak, while Number 6 recovers the last surviving specimen with Overclock.

The twelfth Vigilantes episode adapts part of Chapter 23 along with Chapters 24 through 26, using the opening Kekka Alright and the ending Speed.

Several sequences were reworked. Eraser Head's report drops the injured civilians, since none were hurt on screen. Koichi arrives by sliding up the Marukane walls rather than emerging from the crowd, and both Pop's set and the FeatherHATS performance run longer, the latter gaining a video message from the store manager that the manga only had as audio. Tamao's flashback is fleshed out and the previous host's face is shown plainly instead of shadowed.

The fight itself is extended. Knuckleduster's proud smile after the electrocution is cut, the camera lingers on his motionless body, his arrangement with Giran happens face to face at a bar rather than by phone and is broken into segments, and the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation from the manga is omitted.
