Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki

Laid out in a hospital bed once the war is over, Izuku Midoriya drops back into the inner world of One For All. This visit is different. Every vestige stands fully realized and able to speak plainly, a side effect of how fast the Quirk has grown and of Tomura hauling them into the open while trying to tear the power loose with All For One. Izuku's own vestige remains half formed, and the others want a hard conversation before he surfaces.

Hikage Shinomori opens it. Alongside Nana's Float, the boy manifested another inheritance during the fight: Danger Sense, an early warning for incoming harm. Izuku knows the name from All Might's abandoned research, where the fourth user's entry listed a death at forty with the cause scratched out. Old age took him, Hikage explains. Having judged himself too weak to face All For One, he spent his last eighteen years piling raw power into the Quirk before handing it on, and in those final years two strange cracks opened across his face. He blamed illness, or insufficient training. The autopsy told a different story: a body carrying several Quirks at once was tearing itself down, and the shortened life came with it.

Izuku objects, since All Might held the same power far longer than forty years. Yoichi Shigaraki explains the gap. All Might began Quirkless, so his frame absorbed the gift without conflict, made it his native ability, and drew everything out of it without paying a price. That answer creates a fresh problem. With the stored Quirks now surfacing, passing One For All to anyone born with a power of their own has become dangerous, and Quirkless births keep growing rarer, so Daigoro Banjo reasons that Izuku is probably the final person who can ever carry it.

Groundwork done, Nana asks what they gathered for: does he have it in him to kill Tomura should it come to that. The vestiges do not dismiss what he felt at their last meeting, the child Tenko pleading to be saved, but they weigh it against the hatred All For One spent years cultivating in the boy. They suspect it is another long game, since intense negative emotion may be the lever that defeats the Quirk's resistance to theft. All For One tried and failed against Daigoro and En, so their theory is that Tomura is the vessel meant to concentrate the loathing and take the power by proxy. Nana repeats the question, adding the weight of Tomura becoming something unstoppable and past saving.

Izuku answers that Tomura is the only opponent whose turn toward evil he actually understands. Others he fought simply to stop. This one he can hear crying underneath the malice, and that complicates everything. Fighting may still be required, but he refuses to treat One For All as a weapon for killing. Watching All Might and the ones before him, he has come to read it as a power meant to rescue, and he intends to reach the boy buried inside Tomura, even if he cannot honestly promise where the line falls.

The first user accepts it, pledges that all of them will follow, and says he is proud of the successors who received the Quirk. Nana apologizes for the test, thanks him for the answer, and asks him to pass a greeting to Gran Torino. Yoichi then tells the second and third users, who deliberately kept out of the discussion, that it is time they helped unlock everything the Quirk holds.

Awake in the world, Hawks and Best Jeanist reach Izuku's room and press All Might for the truth behind the name. Once Hawks explains that the phrase is already public and could poison what trust in heroes remains, All Might agrees to lay it out privately. The press conference follows three days after that. Endeavor confirms Dabi's account of his family and offers no cover for himself. Hawks exposes Best Jeanist's death as a staged fabrication, admits the truth about his own upbringing and about killing Twice, and argues that while he owns his failure to reach the man in time, letting Double run unchecked would have been unthinkable. The three then announce that civilians will be relocated for their protection into U.A. High School and the country's other hero academies. The room turns hostile at their composure, and Endeavor answers that the step is necessary and that any anger over the rest of the profession can be aimed at him.

By early April every member of Class 1-A has a letter and an empty desk to go with it. Izuku spells out what One For All really is, tells them All For One and Tomura are hunting him, and says he left to keep them out of the blast radius. He thanks them for their time together and says goodbye. Somewhere in the city, wearing what is left of his costume, he watches an explosion bloom in the distance, remarks flatly on the size of whatever caused it, pulls his ruined mask over his face, and moves.

Izuku learns that Danger Sense has manifested, that carrying multiple Quirks shortened Hikage Shinomori's life, and that All Might escaped the same fate only because he was born Quirkless. Daigoro Banjo concludes that Izuku is likely the last person who will ever hold One For All.

Nana Shimura tests whether Izuku could kill Tomura. He replies that he means to save the child inside him, and the vestiges commit to backing him fully. Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist hold a public press conference confirming Dabi's claims and announcing mass evacuation into the hero academies. Izuku leaves U.A., sending each classmate a farewell letter that reveals what he carries.

Drawn from Chapter 304 through Chapter 306, this closes out the Paranormal Liberation War arc's hospital stretch. It aired in Japan on February 4, 2023, and in English on February 25, using Ours and North Wind.

The adaptation cuts Nezu's discussion with the government about converting U.A. into a shelter. It adds Dabi watching the press conference, which the manga only implied, and extends the reactions of Class 1-A reading Izuku's letter.
