Let You Down

Late at night, Himiko walks through the wreck of her family home, past the graffiti left by people who decided what her family was, remembering what her parents and classmates said once Transform surfaced and she stopped fitting anywhere. In her old bedroom she recalls falling asleep while nipping blood from her own wrists, dreaming of doing the same to a classmate, and of a sparrow tunneling into her belly before painting her red. She smiles at the discovery that everything she owned has been thrown out. On the way out, Dabi is waiting on a nearby roof, surprised she has a sentimental streak. She snaps that curiosity about a house she abandoned long ago is not abnormal. He asks whether she has settled on tearing down this irreparably rotten world; she confirms it without pausing, and he torches the place, inviting her to enjoy the sight, since tomorrow comes for everyone. He clarifies the gesture is really about making Endeavor suffer, then passes her a vial holding Twice's blood, pocketed before Gigantomachia scooped them up during the war, telling her that Sad Man's Parade would give them the last laugh.

In the cave, Spinner heads in to look in on "Tomura" and flinches at a slick mass of fingers packing the tunnel before it withdraws into the villain's right hand. All For One waves it off as his body overpowering the Quirk Singularity. Asked whether that is even Tomura anymore, he answers with a shrug of reassurance. Skeptic pushes Spinner to see himself as a genuine figurehead for heteromorph discrimination rather than another Stain fanboy, and between the two of them they talk him into taking the device Skeptic offers, though he insists he is here for Tomura and nothing more. All For One commends him, remarking that anybody can end up a hero to somebody.

Class 1-A returns from another fruitless sweep for the Paranormal Liberation Front, and All Might arrives with Naomasa and Nezu to walk them through the plan. The next morning Nezu announces over the intercom that a curfew is coming as the upgraded defenses go live, warning that "Tomura" will wake within four days, and asking the public to hold together. Listening in, the spy Tajima is stunned into relief: he and Mihaera had just been ordered to leak exactly this to push Izuku out of the school, and the school has done the job for them.

The class says its goodbyes to families and evacuees alike before relocating to Makeshift Fortress: Troy, an armored dormitory thirty kilometers from campus. Outside, Izuku finally thanks Ochaco for the speech she made on his behalf, and she brushes it off. She admits Himiko was on her mind the whole time she gave it, along with their brief clash during the war. She knows the girl has helped ruin countless lives, and it still bothers her that she never understood how Himiko separates right from wrong. Staring out at the ruined city is how she keeps that from paralyzing her when the last fight comes. Izuku understands, and mentions the Tenko he found buried inside Tomura, saying that a fight is unavoidable but he cannot unsee what he saw. Nearby, Katsuki, Eijiro, and Tenya sit with Shoto about Dabi and the resolve he has built to end it.

Days later, All For One takes a call from the Aoyamas, privately noting that a Quirk lifted, apparently, from an ancestor of Naomasa's lets him hear hostility inside anyone's words. His mother offers a bottle of wine her son can deliver, and a drop point is agreed. In a deserted parking lot outside Troy, Izuku arrives in the new Costume Zeta to find Yuga waiting, supposedly released by his parents' lawyers. Before Izuku can alert anyone, Yuga spells out All For One's real endgame: drive a nation into permanent social and economic ruin, let the collapse poison foreign relations as everyone hoards resources, then corner those resources with a stockpile of Quirks and rule the planet. Izuku says people are still fighting and it will never happen. Yuga answers that this is the last chance for that, apologizes, says he is only protecting his parents, and a fully restored All For One descends behind him wearing a fresh outfit and a life support helmet, applauding the crying boy.

Izuku drops into Full Cowl and shouts at his friend for turning on them twice, and Yuga fires Navel Laser at All For One, tearing open his sleeve. The smoke clears on the two boys standing side by side, each commending the other for the bait. All For One cannot work out how the calls fooled him, but sets it aside, since Search shows every hero Tomura recognized during the war is too far off to intervene. He uses Warping to bring in the League, an assortment of other villains, and the Near High-End Nomu. Then Warp Gates open overhead, and he assumes Kurogiri escaped, only to watch pro heroes pour out instead. Yuga dries his face and repeats what his parents told him: what All For One hates most is any hope that Japan will recover, turn this around, and build something brighter. Today, he declares, is the day it beats him.

Dabi burns down the Toga family home and gives Himiko a vial of Twice's blood.

Spinner is coerced into serving as the public face of the heteromorph movement.

Nezu's public warning inadvertently completes the order All For One gave his spies.

Class 1-A relocates to Makeshift Fortress: Troy.

All For One's lie-detecting Quirk and his ultimate goal are revealed.

Yuga turns on All For One, springing the heroes' trap and starting Operation Troy and the Final War.

The seventh season's fifth episode, adapted from Chapters 341 through 343. It closes the U.A. Traitor Arc and opens the Final War Arc.

The anime shows "Tomura" walking after reabsorbing his mutated hands and drops the lingering deformities the manga leaves on his right hand, while cutting the rioting villains mobilizing. Tajima and Mihaera now meet at a coffee table rather than passing discreetly in a crowd, and three other spies are omitted. Extra footage of Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto beating Jailbreakers is added, Nezu's lockdown announcement is shown in full, and a scene of Shoto entering Troy under his classmates' worried gaze replaces a shot of the hallways.
