Episode 161

All Might's origin was ordinary, he decides: Anpanman books on the patio, the Anpanman March sung badly while his mother laughed along. Looking back down the road he has walked, he notices small lights scattered in his wake, unremarkable until examined. In the present he and Stain press the advantage Bloodcurdle bought. Stain got here by eavesdropping on Shoto and Ingenium at Ground Zero, deducing the retired hero was in trouble, then gliding back along the battle's path to sniff out a usable smear of All For One's blood on broken concrete just as "Can't Stop Twinkling" lit the horizon. He came because a god who takes on a mortal's soul must also carry a mortal's struggle to keep living, and he intends to see that through.

Both strikes fail. Forced Quirk Activation triggers Bloodlet, flushing every liter of blood from All For One's body, and Antigen Swap has already changed his type, so licking the spray does nothing. Stain is caught in a mouth grown from the villain's shoulder spikes, hurled through city blocks, and told his role is over by a man who calls him a murderer. Reaching up with cupped hands, Stain says nothing ends, everything is process, and that watching the number one hero taught an uneducated man what heroism actually is. He tells All Might to live and win; the punch lands before he finishes the name, and Bloodcurdle is stolen. Hercules blocks the follow-up beam with its own wreckage, finishes Stain's sentence, and is destroyed. In the blast's aftermath All Might hallucinates Nana urging him on and Sir Nighteye watching, admits his legs and his armor are gone, and comes to face-up in the rain. His promises to Inko and to Izuku pull him onto his stomach, and he goads the villain down.

All For One is busy: U.A. is falling, and he has reached Warping range. He calls Tomura to himself, meaning to dump his entire reproduced Quirk stockpile into his successor, but Tomura gulps the sludge back down and warns his master, fully conscious now, to stay out of the fight. Grinning, All For One answers All Might's call instead, and moments later Futo and Ronaudo watch him fly toward the school holding the man by the knee, announcing that he will answer for showing the young a futile dream. Deku, still restraining Tomura, sees his mentor's ruined body and feels the vestige flickering out. All Might reaches up and hugs the villain's shoulders, which drags All For One back to Nana's last words, that her successor was crazier than he was and would beat him beyond dispute. A gauntlet plate glows orange for a suicide blast meant to rewind the man to a preschooler; Spearlike Bones skewer the arm and short it out, and Bloodcurdle paralyzes him. All For One even swats down Gentle's rescue attempt by wrecking the levitation system and cuts Star and Stripe's X-66 squadron out of the sky, then lifts All Might for the planet to see. Naomasa buries his face and prays, and a colossal explosion bursts from the plunging Coffin in the Sky, revealing Dynamight bloodied, alive, and still holding the trading card he always wanted signed. In the lights along his path, All Might watches two of them being waved and marveled at by a pair of small boys, shaped into the very trading cards those two once unwrapped one afternoon.

All For One counters Bloodcurdle with Bloodlet and Antigen Swap, kills Stain, and steals his Quirk; Hercules is destroyed shielding All Might, and the Armored All Might is reduced to scrap.

Tomura rejects his master's Warping transfer, refusing the Quirk stockpile so he can finish his fight with Deku, which redirects All For One back to All Might.

All Might's suicide-bomb gambit is cut short by Spearlike Bones, and he is paralyzed and displayed to the world, until Katsuki Bakugo returns to life in an explosion atop the falling U.A. Coffin.

The second episode of season eight adapts chapters 401 through 403 and aired in Japan on October 11, 2025, with the dub on October 25. THE REVO opens and I closes.

Toshie Yagi and the Yagi family home debut in the extended Anpanman flashback. When All Might walks his path, the anime uses his present appearance rather than the manga's middle-school version, extends Stain's tracking sequence, and lets Hercules finish its words before exploding. Added beats include his promises to Inko and Izuku motivating him off the pavement, and a series-wide flashback montage during his recollection of Izuku's journey.

The adaptation cuts the police confirming that Dabi and Himiko were neutralized. The title also ran truncated in the preceding episode's preview, cut off after "The End of an Era, and", mirroring how the manga first presented it.
