Episode 26 (Vigilantes)

The brawl between Knuckleduster and Number 6 reaches its end after the villain's Bombified arm detonates, an explosion seen here from outside the building while Koichi Haimawari hears the noise from a distance. The fallout scatters the cast. Captain Celebrity is admitted to the Naruhata Disaster Medical Center, and Makoto Tsukauchi leaves for a college in New York, with the American hero boarding his own flight and saying his goodbyes just ahead of hers.

Time then skips forward by two years from the Sky Egg incident. Koichi is still working the streets as The Crawler, taking on a group of thugs in a scuffle narrated by Present Mic, brushing them off with his Shooty-Go-Blam while he and Pop☆Step trade thoughts about what the hired muscle is being paid. A closing stinger cuts away to Doctor Garaki's laboratory at Jaku General Hospital, where All For One oversees experiments being carried out on Number 6.

Knuckleduster's confrontation with Number 6 concludes, and The Crawler's clash with the thugs establishes the routine he has settled into years later. Naomasa Tsukauchi and Eizo Tanuma discuss the case, Kirihito Kamachi and Ikajiro Takobe appear, and the final scene places Number 6 in the hands of Kyudai Garaki and All For One, tying the vigilante storyline to the wider conspiracy.

This is the thirteenth and final entry of the second season, spanning both the Sky Egg and Final Performance storylines. It adapts the back half of chapter 57 along with chapters 58 and 66, keeping CATCH!!! and Miss you as its bookends.

Several details differ from the manga. Koichi hears the blast alone rather than asking Fat Gum about it, so the sequence where Monika reports Toshinori missing and he slips back to Naomasa is dropped. Captain Celebrity's hospital goes unnamed in print but is identified here, and Makoto's New York campus is redesigned into a less obvious nod to Avengers Tower. The exchange in which Naomasa and Eizo decline to call Number 6 non-human is cut, as is Koichi's narration foreshadowing their eventual conflict. The passage of two years is stated outright instead of being framed around Koichi's three years as The Crawler, Pop's question about calling for help during the thug fight is removed along with the thugs breaking free of his restraints, and the remark about their pay moves from a bystander to Koichi and Pop themselves. The laboratory stinger, with Doctor Garaki working under his employer's eye, is original to the broadcast.
