A doctor puts a ceiling on Izuku's body, a friend puts a fist in his face, and six students board a train they have no permission to be on. Meanwhile Katsuki answers the League's recruitment pitch the only way he knows how, with an explosion.
Eijiro Kirishima's appeal splits Class 1-A. Shoto Todoroki presses the point that nobody knows how long the League will keep their classmate breathing, while Yuga Aoyama, Fumikage Tokoyami and Tsuyu Asui insist the job belongs to professionals. The stalemate breaks when a doctor asks to see Izuku Midoriya alone, and Eijiro whispers a meeting place behind the hospital after dark.
The diagnosis is blunt. Whatever Izuku did to bring down Muscular has wrecked the architecture of his bones, muscle and ligaments, and another injury on that scale will leave his arms useless. He is discharged into rehabilitation, carrying a note of thanks written by Kota Izumi. Reading it on the roof, he takes a call from Inko Midoriya, who asks whether he really has to go back at all. Elsewhere, Detective Tsukauchi assembles a strike roster: Gran Torino, Endeavor, Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, Best Jeanist, Gang Orca, Edgeshot and Tiger, who begin planning their move on the League.
Momo Yaoyorozu is recruited to build a fresh receiver for the tracker on the Nomu, and she and Izuku both turn up behind the hospital that night. So does Tenya Ida, who sees his own Hosu mistakes repeating and warns that reckless students will finish the damage to U.A.'s name. When words fail him he punches Izuku, then admits the fear underneath: Izuku's ruined arms look too much like Tensei's injuries, and rescuing Katsuki could cost worse. Shoto counters that the plan is extraction, not confrontation. Momo joins to keep a lid on any fighting, privately expecting the group to fold once reality bites. Tenya joins for the same reason and apologizes for the blow. Izuku simply cannot leave a friend within reach.
The train carries them to Kamino Ward, where Momo blocks Eijiro from charging in: their faces are known. Disguises follow. A crowd nearby is watching Shota Aizawa, Nezu and Vlad King apologize on live television, and Izuku listens to the questions curdle into hostility and the public turn against the school. Tomura Shigaraki watches the same broadcast and likes what he sees, with Spinner adding that genuine heroes no longer exist. Their aim is to make society doubt the word itself, and Tomura wants Katsuki Bakugo unbound and treated as an equal recruit. Mr. Compress offers an apology for the rough abduction; Dabi warns that the boy will swing. Freed, Katsuki immediately blasts the mask off Tomura's face, cuts through the speech, and states that he intends to win the way All Might wins, and nothing will move him off it.
Izuku learns his arms are one severe injury away from permanent paralysis, a limit that reshapes how he can fight. Eight pro heroes are gathered by Tsukauchi into the Hideout Raid team. Tenya strikes Izuku and then joins the rescue group alongside Momo, both intending to restrain rather than fight.
The six students reach Kamino Ward in disguise as U.A.'s public apology airs and opinion turns against the school. The League makes its recruitment pitch to Katsuki, who refuses it with an explosion to Tomura's face.
Episode forty-six overall, the eighth of season three, and the opening chapter of the Hideout Raid arc. Japanese broadcast was 26 May 2018 with the English airing on 20 April 2019, covering chapters 84 and 85. Odd Future and Update remain the theme songs.
Where the manga has Koji startled by the doctor's arrival, the adaptation gives that beat to Yuga. Recruiting the Hideout Raid team happens only in the anime, as does a longer sequence inside the thrift store where everyone picks a disguise and settles into character, complete with Shoto pointing out that Izuku's attempt to blend in achieves the opposite.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
In Episode 46, a doctor tells Izuku Midoriya his arms cannot take another severe injury, Tenya Ida confronts and then joins him in an unsanctioned attempt to rescue Katsuki Bakugo, and six students sneak into Kamino Ward as Katsuki refuses the League of Villains' recruitment offer with an explosion to Tomura Shigaraki's face.
A doctor tells Izuku that the damage he did to his bones, muscles, and ligaments fighting Muscular means another injury on that scale will leave his arms permanently useless.
Tenya punches Izuku out of fear that a reckless rescue attempt will repeat his own mistakes from Hosu, since Izuku's ruined arms remind him too much of what happened to his brother Tensei.
When Tomura Shigaraki tries to recruit him as an equal, Katsuki blasts the mask off Tomura's face and declares he intends to win the way All Might wins.
Episode 46 opens the Hideout Raid arc, the eighth episode of Season 3.
