Moving into Dorms

With Inko's blessing, Izuku moves with his classmates into the Heights Alliance dormitory. Nezu surveys the buildings, which serve student safety and, less publicly, give the staff room to investigate whether anyone inside leaked information.

Shota Aizawa gathers the class outside and puts the provisional hero licenses back on the table, the plan they had at the training camp. He then turns on the group that went after Katsuki: were it not for All Might's retirement, he would have expelled every one of them, sparing only Toru, Kyoka and Katsuki himself, because nobody intervened.

Katsuki defuses the moment by dragging Denki into his short-circuited state as a distraction, then quietly repays Eijiro for the allowance he burned on the goggles, and Eijiro pledges to buy the class dinner.

The tour turns into a contest. Izuku's quarters are buried in All Might merchandise, Fumikage's gloomy setup is invaded by Mina and Toru over his objections, and Yuga's proves its perfect opposite. Nobody volunteers for Minoru's, while Mashirao and Tenya stay unremarkable. Disappointed by their showing, the boys let Minoru pressure the girls into competing. Eijiro's is aggressively manly, Mezo's is bare, Hanta's Asian styling is genuinely well put together, and Shoto has replaced his flooring, unable to get comfortable otherwise. Rikido's is ordinary but comes with sweets.

Kyoka punishes Yuga and Denki for calling hers unfeminine, Toru and Mina go frilly, Tsuyu's is skipped because she is unwell, and Momo's is crammed with oversized furniture from her mansion. The vote crowns Rikido Room King on the strength of his cake, to his astonishment and the dismay of Denki and Minoru.

Shoto tries to slip away, but Ochaco steers him outside along with Momo, Tenya, Eijiro and Izuku, where Tsuyu waits. She admits the rescue hurt her, that she could not laugh with everyone after Shota's warning that morning, and that she wants to say so out loud in order to enjoy her friends again. Ochaco reveals the contest was engineered to break exactly that tension, and the group apologizes, working to put things right.

Class 1-A takes up residence in Heights Alliance, a move that doubles as a security measure and an internal investigation into the suspected leak. Shota reveals he would have expelled almost the entire class over the Kamino rescue if All Might's retirement had not intervened.

The class holds its first Room King contest, won by Rikido Sato thanks to his cakes. Tsuyu confronts the rescue group about being ignored, and Ochaco explains the contest was staged to dissolve the lingering tension, leading to an apology and reconciliation.

Episode fifty-one overall, the thirteenth of season three, and the start of the Provisional Hero License Exam arc. It aired 30 June 2018 in Japan and 25 May 2019 in the United States, adapting the close of chapter 97, chapter 98, and the first seventeen pages of chapter 99, still under Odd Future and Update.

The adaptation cuts to Vanguard Action Squad footage while Nezu explains why the dorms are necessary, and to the hospital conversation about rescuing Katsuki while Eraser Head dresses the group down. The shot of Rikido's chiffon cake being eaten by Hanta and Eijiro does not appear. The contest is billed in the manga as a test of best aesthetic sense.
