Summary

Sheltering behind his own destruction as the count reaches sixty-two, Yo Shindo reviews the situation for his Ketsubutsu classmates. His Quirk broke the U.A. group apart, Class 2-2 split into two hunting parties, and opportunists piled in behind them. With the phase nearing its end, examinees everywhere have abandoned caution. Yo would rather let them exhaust themselves. Tatami calls that underhanded, and he counters that choosing between charging and scheming is the whole point, with no correct answer available.

Katsuki and Seiji trade attacks, Seiji intent on humbling him. Denki steps in, Katsuki demands the fight stay one on one, and Seiji flanks him with a slab of flesh to convert him into a meatball. Katsuki tosses a grenade to Denki on his way down. Seiji explains that he cares less about qualifying than about culling applicants he judges unfit, and Denki answers with the equipment Power Loader and Mei Hatsume built him, threading electricity through a fired projectile to shock Seiji at range. He tells Seiji he has misread Katsuki and Eijiro, who are working relentlessly toward the same goal. The jolt breaks Seiji's hold, his victims revert, and Eijiro and Katsuki finish him together, with Eijiro thanking Denki and immediately complaining about the delay. Shoto, waiting in the anteroom and beginning to doubt, watches Momo's group walk in.

Izuku draws his pursuers into the open, then lifts Hanta into the air. Ochaco releases debris fixed to Hanta's tape, dropping it to pin the chasing pack. With seventy-six through, the trio eliminates them and qualifies. No U.A. student has been knocked out, but time is running short for the rest of the class. Tenya, sweeping for classmates, finds Yuga alone; Yuga suggests the others may already have passed, which would suit Tenya fine as class president.

Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki qualify and meet Izuku's group heading in. For the first occasion since Kamino, Katsuki speaks to Izuku, even praising the Quirk he calls borrowed, which unnerves Izuku into wondering how much Katsuki has worked out about All Might. Eleven of Class 1-A are now through, with nine left and eighteen slots open.

Cornered, Yuga starts to give up until Tenya's willingness to shield him changes his mind. He fires his navel laser skyward, using himself as bait so Tenya can ambush from cover, and admits he has always wanted to stand as someone's equal. The beam instead gathers the scattered class. Koji's birds break up the enemy, Fumikage strikes through the confusion, Minoru lays his spheres, Mashirao knocks rivals into them, and Toru blinds a cluster with her refraction move. Mina explains to a bewildered Yuga that his light is what saved everyone. Tenya tells him that whoever he wants to match, he is the beacon that carried the class, and the two claim the final pair of slots. Yokumiru closes the phase.

All of Class 1-A is through. Inasa laments Seiji's failure while Nagamasa Mora scolds Seiji, Inasa, and Camie for working alone. The arena is then reshaped into a disaster zone, and Yokumiru announces the final phase will test rescue work, which delights Izuku.

Notes

Chapters 107 and 108 are adapted here, with the action staying at Takoba National Stadium under the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc.

As elsewhere in the arc, the passing tally is announced more frequently on screen. The anteroom material between Shoto and his classmates runs longer than on the page.

Added for the adaptation are Izuku's flashback to telling Katsuki about his borrowed Quirk and Eraser Head's remarks once the whole class qualifies. Cut from it is the manga panel in which the Help Us Company staff joke about enjoying the chance to crush livelier youngsters, along with Yokumiru handing the second round over to them.
