Episode 84

Rehearsal for Class 1-A's stage act runs late in the gymnasium, Mina drilling the choreography until Hound Dog appears at nine to send everyone back to the dorms. Nerves keep half of Heights Alliance awake. Checking the rig for Yuga's mirror ball, Izuku finds the rope worn through from practice, and rather than wake Momo to make a new one he decides to buy a replacement during his morning errands. The class swears to make their event land before finally turning in.

Festival morning starts at 6:30 with Toshinori putting Izuku through training, until a scruffy Mei Hatsume arrives carrying the support gear he ordered: a slim pair of gloves styled to match his costume. Izuku thanks her, takes the manual, and spends the next hour learning the feel of them. At 7:50 he sprints into town for the class's supplies, and on the way back he collides with a disguised couple. A passing remark about Golden Tips Imperial tea opens a conversation neither man can resist, and when Izuku places the voice from a video he watched days earlier, the disguise is finished. Danjuro Tobita drops his coat and hat instead of running.

Backup is not an option: the Saturday streets are empty, no agency sits within reach, and any alarm cancels the festival Izuku hopes will finally make Eri smile. He engages alone at eight percent Full Cowl while La Brava films. Elasticity turns air, pavement, and steel springy, and Gently Rebound and Gently Trampoline throw Izuku off long enough for the pair to flee. Recalling Mina's advice about focusing in an instant of motion, Izuku fires a Delaware Smash Air Force in mid-air and catches Gentle in the back. The brawl tumbles into a construction site, where Gentle ends up dangling by his jacket from a girder and still tries to negotiate, promising La Brava can disable the alarms so nobody has to cancel anything. Izuku refuses, and Gentle bounces free, ricochets the boy's own blast back at him, and topples a loosened beam near an onlooker to buy distance. At 8:45 Class 1-A is dressed and wondering where Izuku is. He lifts the beam one-handed and fires after the escaping pair as they slingshot off a crane hook toward U.A. Gentle twists clear, and La Brava suggests it may be time for her Quirk.

Mei Hatsume delivers the Air Force Gloves on the morning of the festival, and Izuku is still wearing them when he runs into Gentle Criminal in town.

Tea knowledge and a recognizable voice give the villain away, forcing him to abandon his disguise. Gentle orders La Brava to keep the camera rolling no matter what happens, and the fight begins at 8:32, less than thirty minutes before the festival opens.

Elasticity is revealed as the ability to make anything Gentle touches springy, the air included, and the effect lingers rather than ending on command.

Izuku lands his first air blast while in motion, a problem All Might had flagged, thanks to Mina's dance lessons and Mei's gloves.

La Brava identifies Izuku as the boy who wrecked his own fingers at the U.A. Sports Festival, so Gentle rewrites the plan into a timed rush on the school before the student can warn anyone.

The twenty-first entry of season four adapts Chapters 175 through 177. Starmarker opens the episode and Shout Baby closes it.

Chapter 175's spread of U.A. students preparing for the festival is dropped, so the episode opens on Class 1-A's night-before rehearsal instead. Two additions appear: a brief cut to Izuku moments ahead of the glove delivery, and his reaction after Gently Rebound throws him back.

The Deku versus Gentle Criminal fight starts here and concludes in the following episode. Locations include the P.E. grounds, Heights Alliance, and the forested land bordering the school.
