Episode 91

Woken by his own Quirk firing, Izuku cannot get back to sleep and goes running, still turning over the dream in which he saw One For All's origin and spoke with its first holder, who left him with a line of predecessors watching kindly. Yuga, meanwhile, worries about the state of his dorm room. In the morning Izuku lays it all out for All Might, who is stunned. He too saw the vestiges as a young man, and his teacher explained what they were, but interacting with them never occurred to anyone, which appears to make Izuku the first to manage it. The conversation stirs an old memory of Nana suggesting that One For All hoards the essence and presence of everyone who carried it, gloomy to a young Toshinori and comforting to her, since it meant reunion after death. All Might cannot explain the word singularity, and Izuku wonders whether it ties into the Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory, which holds that Quirks compound in strength each generation until nobody can control them. Izuku also mentions seeing his own half-formed vestige with two he could not make out. All Might promises they will investigate together, and Izuku signs off by telling him Nana was beautiful, which he happily agrees with.

In the corridor Eraser Head needles them about how well they get along, to All Might's discomfort, and Hitoshi Shinso is standing beside him. Later, Class 1-A gathers at Ground Gamma in winter costumes. Izuku's enthusiasm about how Katsuki's new gear suits Explosion irritates its owner, and Mashirao points out that Izuku has modified his own kit most of all, including Mei's gloves. Ochaco's memory of Mei landing on top of Izuku makes her punch herself in the head. Class 1-B arrives with Neito announcing that a festival poll put their play two votes above 1-A's concert, and Eraser Head silences him with his capture weapon before Itsuka can land a chop.

Vlad King explains the setup: four-on-four team battles between the classes, with Hitoshi, a General Department student seeking a transfer into the Hero Course, fighting twice, once for each side. Winning requires jailing four opponents inside twenty minutes, or holding the capture lead when time expires. Hitoshi tells both classes plainly that everyone here is an obstacle between him and his goal, so he is not looking for friends, and the room applauds. Katsuki writes him off as a liability given how little fighting he has done, and Hitoshi agrees. The lots produce five matchups, with Hitoshi drawn into round one for 1-A and round five for 1-B, which puts him opposite Izuku in a rematch both anticipate. All Might tells Midnight that 1-A holds the edge in experience while 1-B has grown further, precisely because they stayed clear of trouble. Round one opens with Tsuyu scouting under camouflage and Koda's pigeons reporting Ibara alone ahead, spreading vines. The advance is a trap: Jurota ambushes them in Beast form and drops Tsuyu and Eijiro with Roaring Rage, while Kosei, riding his back, seals Koji inside a soundproof Air Prison. Then Jurota hears his teammate cheering him on and answers, and the voice was Hitoshi's mask, running his new move, Persona Chords.

Izuku is likely the first holder of One For All able to interact with the vestiges, something even All Might never attempted.

Nana's theory that One For All stores the presence of its users is recalled, and the first user's mention of a singularity goes unexplained, prompting Izuku to raise the Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory.

Hitoshi Shinso joins the Joint Training Battle as a candidate for transfer into the Hero Course, fighting once for each class.

Eraser Head frames the exercise as Hitoshi's audition, and the rules require four captures in twenty minutes.

The draw sets Izuku against Hitoshi in round five, a rematch of their Sports Festival bout.

Round one begins with Jurota's ambush taking out Tsuyu and Eijiro and Kosei caging Koji, until Hitoshi's Persona Chords mask imitates Kosei's voice and brainwashes Jurota.

Season five's third episode adapts Chapters 194 and 195 and opens the Joint Training arc.

Aoyama and Izuku's exchange after the former is woken is slightly expanded, though the anime has Yuga only peek in and miss the wreckage that the manga shows him seeing plainly.

The Doomsday Theory lecture Izuku gives All Might is an addition, complete with flashbacks and Todoroki family visions, as are individual introductions across Class 1-B. Cut are a walk to Lunch Rush's cafeteria featuring Shoto, Tsuyu, Mina, Ochaco, Minoru, and Tenya, plus the panel of Midnight and All Might reaching Ground Gamma.
