Kanidoge

Kanidoge, written かに道化, is a food business dealing in crab. Headquartered in Osaka, the corporation imports and sells crab varieties across Japan, its catalog running from fresh stock through farm-to-table goods. It enters the main manga in Chapter 132 and the Vigilantes spin-off in Chapter 31, with an anime appearance in Episode 14 of Vigilantes.

The firm's most recognizable assets are its crab-shaped mechs. They mainly haul product around, though they double as walking advertisements.

The name translates roughly to crab buffoonery, and the company parodies Kani Doraku, a real restaurant in Dotombori whose own name means crab amusement.

The company became a drug conduit without ever agreeing to it. The Villain Factory wanted Trigger moving through the country and decided the cleanest method was to piggyback on legitimate shipping, threading itself into real distribution channels and mixing product in so the market would be saturated before the Police Force noticed anything.

Kanidoge suited the scheme precisely. It moves every grade of crab in identical packaging, so no visual inspection separates one crate from another, and the frozen goods travel sealed up tight. The resulting pipeline picked up the nickname the Crab Route.

Police work under detectives Naomasa Tsukauchi and Eizo Tanuma eventually pinned down the next delivery: a Mascot Idol Carnival being staged at Super Minami's SS Mall. Catching the handoff live would map the distribution network and bring investigators nearer to the Villain Factory itself, so they placed the agent Monika Kaniyashiki on the sales staff, a position that let her inspect stock.

She found the drug at the loading dock, concealed inside counterfeit ice packs, and identified the man behind it: Number 6, a Villain Factory operative working the job as a part-timer. He had a contingency ready. A code he entered sent the company's mechs rampaging across the docks, detonating beside the Trigger consignment and wiping out the evidence, and he slipped away with valuable intelligence while leaving a trail of injured officers behind him.

Monika Kaniyashiki is the police agent planted inside the company's sales staff, whose access to the merchandise let her confirm Trigger was hidden in the crab packaging.

Number 6 is the Villain Factory agent who infiltrated Kanidoge as a part-time worker, ran Trigger through its shipments, and destroyed the evidence using the company's own mechs.

Eizo Tanuma and Naomasa Tsukauchi are the detectives whose investigation of the Crab Route drove the operation, though neither belongs to the company.
