Chapter 1 (Team-Up Missions)

Days before the mission itself, All Might tells Class 1-A that their provisional licenses now qualify them for a fresh program pairing students with working professionals, a scheme meant to sharpen cooperation and communication across the hero world. Envelopes go around the room. Izuku is delighted to see Ochaco listed beside him and considerably less delighted to see Katsuki. The trio reports to the address on the slip and finds a hotel rather than the agency they expected. A voice behind them belongs to Mirko, whom Izuku recognizes at once.

Izuku explains to the other two what makes her unusual: no fixed base, no office, no sidekicks. Mirko takes the description as a compliment. She then punctures Izuku's enthusiasm by admitting she prefers solo work and accepted only because the Hero Public Safety Commission told her to. The students may tag along if they like. Out on the streets she flattens a rampaging villain with a single kick. Ochaco floats after a boy's runaway Gang Orca balloon and hands it back, earning a thank you and calling the child an angel in return. Katsuki, meanwhile, hollers for villains loudly enough to scatter the locals. A pale figure in a hood stops near Izuku, asks whether he is a hero, and remarks that free use of a Quirk must be a fine thing before warning him to keep his distance.

Mirko sums up her verdict later: she never intended to teach anyone anything, Katsuki's bloodlust suits her fine, Ochaco did well by the boy, and Izuku accomplished nothing. Across town the hooded man buckles and begins venting poison. A passerby collapses. Civilians pile into the hotel lobby, and the broadcast confirms that toxic fog is spreading through the Sarumai District, its source a man named Takeshi Bushijima and his Poison Gas Quirk. Mirko announces she is going to kick him around and leaves.

Masked up, the group evacuates the streets while Izuku fires Air Force blasts to tear the cloud apart. Ochaco rises above the rooftops and spots Takeshi at the town's edge, deliberately keeping clear of everyone. Katsuki and Izuku close in, watching him reroute again and again to dodge pedestrians. When they finally box him in, Izuku catches Katsuki's arm before the punch lands. Takeshi confirms Izuku's hunch: the gas builds up over time, the law leaves him no legal outlet, and years of forced storage finally turned his own Quirk against his body. He asks whether that makes him a villain. Katsuki reasons that emptying the tank is the cure. Mirko hesitates at aiding someone she reads as a criminal, but Izuku vouches for Katsuki and Ochaco backs them both, so Mirko yields the lead. Ochaco lifts Katsuki and Takeshi far above the ground, Takeshi releases everything he has stored, and Katsuki ignites the whole cloud. Back on solid ground, Takeshi pulls off his hood and weeps with relief.

Because people were already hurt, the police arrest him regardless. Mirko's group explains the circumstances, the account reaches the news, and a lighter sentence looks likely. At school All Might collects feedback while Class 1-A chatters about their assignments, then reveals the next round is already set. Izuku opens his envelope.

All Might launches the Team-Up Missions program for Class 1-A, whose provisional licenses make them eligible, and distributes the first assignment envelopes.

Izuku, Ochaco, and Katsuki are placed with Mirko, who accepts the pairing only under Commission orders and refuses to instruct them.

Takeshi Bushijima debuts, losing control of his stockpiled Poison Gas Quirk and forcing a district-wide evacuation.

Izuku disperses the fog with Air Force blasts and Ochaco locates the source from the air.

Katsuki's plan resolves the crisis: Ochaco floats him and Takeshi skyward, Takeshi vents his reserves, and Katsuki detonates the gas with Explosion.

Takeshi is arrested anyway, though the team's testimony to the police and the press points toward a reduced sentence, and All Might announces the next mission.

The chapter opens My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, the spin-off written and drawn by Yoco Akiyama, and runs 43 pages across the November 2019 issue of Saikyo Jump, dated October 4, 2019. It follows Chapter 0 and precedes Chapter 2, and is collected in the first volume.

Class 1-A, the pro heroes, and the U.A. staff share the cover, and the installment carries two color pages. Takeshi Bushijima is the only new character introduced.

Alongside the three leads and Mirko, the chapter features All Might and a wide slice of Class 1-A, including Tsuyu Asui, Fumikage Tokoyami, Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki, Mei Hatsume, Shihai Kuroiro, and Minoru Mineta, with Mina Ashido and Yuga Aoyama appearing only in silhouette.
