Summary

Mei apologizes for the blast and asks the three students their names, having forgotten them entirely. Once reminded, she perks up at the mention of a costume upgrade. Power Loader warns her that working in the studio is fine but wrecking it is not, or she is out, then welcomes the trio inside. The machinery astonishes them. He walks them through the process: with the costume instructions in hand he can make adjustments himself, small fixes needing only a notice to the design office while substantial changes require a formal application and approval. Once inspected and cleared, the costume comes back. His partner office is among the best, so even upgrades turn around in three days.

Izuku asks whether anything can ease the strain on his arm ligaments, and Power Loader says light modification will do it. Mei promptly sizes him up and straps him into a powered exoskeleton he did not want. He restates that plain bracing is all he wanted; Tenya, meanwhile, requests something to cool his legs and receives arm-mounted Super Cooler Electric Boosters. Told they are for the wrong limbs, she counters that if he wants cooler legs he should run on his arms. The nonsense lands on Izuku like a revelation about what All Might meant.

Power Loader chides her, then advises the three to stay on her good side, since she will be handling their gear once they go pro. He gestures at a mountain of scrap that turns out to be every support item she has built since enrolling, holidays included, and praises the talent and the nerve to chase ideas that mostly fail. Izuku realizes his own thinking has been boxed in: inventors ignore convention, and improving means doing the same. Mei turns to Ochaco while Izuku pulls Tenya aside for help with something.

Elsewhere his classmates keep refining their Quirks. Four days on at Gym Gamma, All Might drops in and Shota reports steady progress. Minoru notices Izuku's altered costume, and Izuku explains the arm support reduces the load. Fumikage has produced a technique that lets him wear Dark Shadow, which he calls Abyssal Black Body; Midnight approves of the move and suggests a name that is easier to say. Katsuki fires his new AP Shot at a rock, a focused beam of Explosion that punches straight through. The rock cracks and topples toward All Might, and Izuku appears to shatter it with a kick, then destroys what remains with another. All Might is pleased that the advice was decoded without help. Izuku has accepted that inheriting One For All does not oblige him to inherit All Might's punching, and that the style is his to choose. Guided by Mei's absurd remark and Tenya's assistance, he has traded fists for legs, producing the technique named One For All Full Cowl: Shoot Style. The kick-based approach draws more natural power out of him while sparing his arms.
