Thrown onto rubble by Yo Shindo's quake, Ochaco Uraraka steadies herself and rules out shouting for her class, since noise would pull a crowd. Regrouping quietly is the safer road.

Camie Utsushimi, meanwhile, explains her own logic: in exams this size, some competitors chase people who carry information, and every U.A. student qualifies. That hunger is why she picked Izuku Midoriya. He switches on Full Cowl and refuses to be pulled into conversation, wondering whether she has backup. A thrown ball and a rock both miss him easily, yet she keeps blinking out of sight. When she reappears and throws again, his boosted speed carries him clear, and he stops himself from countering because looking away is exactly when she disappears. She pins him from behind, asking whether he suspected a vanishing Quirk, and reveals she was merely hiding. Concealment is her whole style, which surprises him coming from Shiketsu High School. Having given him that much, she asks what drives him toward heroism.

One For All launches him off the ground, and Camie leaps back. His thrown ball is knocked aside by webbing as fresh examinees arrive, the worst outcome he imagined, so he commits to evasion and slips through the Quirk barrage on Full Cowl. Ochaco calls out, and he assumes she has a plan. Instead she is swarmed, startled into a step back that drops her off her footing. Izuku's regrets surge: unbroken arms might have saved Katsuki Bakugo and spared All Might his clash with All For One, if only he had outrun the Vanguard Action Squad. Speed was the difference, which is why his training now lives in his legs.

Shoot Style carries him to her before she lands. Until his frame can survive it, he vows to keep One For All below full output, compensating with iron soles that add recoil to his kicks. One such kick shatters the ground beneath their pursuers, and the two slip away to cover. As she thanks him, she reaches out with a ball, and he swats it down. The real Ochaco would have floated instead of falling, and would never step into the open without a plan. The disguise melts, impressed that he saw through it yet baffled that he bothered to rescue an enemy. He answers that he could not simply watch someone drop. Camie emerges from the dissolving form, more curious about him than ever, and demands he teach her more.

He catches Ochaco before she falls, only to learn she was Camie wearing her face through a transformation Quirk.

Izuku exposes the disguise through behavioral tells rather than the Quirk itself, and Camie takes an even greater interest in him.

Nineteen pages long, the chapter ran in issue 40 of 2016 on September 5, 2016, joined volume 12 under the Provisional Hero License Exam arc, and carries Ochaco Uraraka on its cover.

Episode 54 adapts the material. The Transform Quirk debuts here, as does Full Cowl: Shoot Style, with iron soles among the gear on display. The setting remains Takoba National Stadium.
