Chapter 125 (Vigilantes)

April finds Soga Kugisaki checking on Kazuho Haneyama's recovery. She can cross a room on her own now, though she doubts her legs will ever carry her through the air the way Leap once did. Soga tells her not to strain herself, warns that officers arrive tomorrow for her statement, and urges her to admit plainly that pieces of her memory are gone.

Kazuho still wants to answer for the damage she caused. Soga reminds her that Queen Bee made a victim of her, and that if anyone owes the city an apology it is Koichi Haimawari, who laughed off the wreckage he left behind.

Soga heads out just as Miu turns up, to Kazuho's puzzlement. Miu runs down where the Narufest crowd landed: the Mad Hatters Leader and the Dance Squad President are settling into work, the Sisters have taken on students to teach, and Yu found herself a boyfriend at college. Miu has a shift job at Hopper's Cafe and no boyfriend to show for it.

Reconstruction around the station is nearly finished, she adds, and the old quarter's shelved development has restarted. Kazuho already heard from Makoto Tsukauchi that new facilities are planned, with the Captain Celebrity Corporation pouring resources in. Then Miu mentions that Koichi's Penthouse is coming down. The speed of it all lands hard on Kazuho, who feels rooted to the same spot while the district moves on.

Miu insists she is stuck too, having flunked her entrance exam and struck out romantically. The Hopper's Cafe team wants a second location that is not another cat cafe, so she has been floating ideas, a meet-and-greet among them, with Kazuho written into the plan. Kazuho says she would love that, but the enthusiasm does not reach her face, and Miu works out that she is waiting on Koichi. Asked after him, Kazuho says he is the same as ever, perfectly normal.

Somewhere else, All For One talks over his findings with Kyudai Garaki and Kurogiri. He combed through Koichi's background and turned up nothing worth noting anywhere in it. A thoroughly average civilian simply took a strong Quirk and abnormal combat instincts and made the most of them. If circumstance, lived experience and raw stubbornness can manufacture a superman, then the reasoning underpinning Operation Anonymous falls apart.

He will still pay whatever it costs to hold himself apart from One For All, yet he has no answer ready for a world where ordinary people start acting heroically. Potential available to anyone points toward chaos, which is useful, but it also injects uncertainty into his designs.

His response is to commit everything to what comes next. If heroes might emerge from anywhere at all, he intends to hold the leash on something that can meet any of them on its own merits. Studying the bio-engineered Nomu suspended in its tube, he credits Number 6 with steering him to this result.

At the Captain Celebrity Corporation headquarters in New York City, the mayor's office pings the agency with a request. Upstairs, Koichi studies the scar in the mirror, suited up, and answers when the call goes out for CCC-02, The Skycrawler.

Kazuho works through rehabilitation and receives visits from Soga and then Miu, who catches her up on the Narufest crew. Both the Dance Squad President and the leader of the Mad Hatters are settling into employment, the Sisters have students to teach, Yu is dating someone from college, and Miu waits tables at Hopper's Cafe after flunking her exams.

Hopper's Cafe plans a second branch, and Naruhata's old-quarter redevelopment passes to Makoto and the Captain Celebrity Corporation.

All For One learns that Koichi is nothing extraordinary, and the idea that such potential can surface in an ordinary civilian rattles him. He redirects his resources toward an engineered creature that can beat any hero on its own strength: the Nomu.

Koichi turns out to have moved to America as Captain Celebrity's official sidekick, operating under the name The Skycrawler.

The one hundred twenty-fifth chapter of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court appeared on May 14, 2022. It runs nineteen pages, closes out the Naruhata Lockdown arc material in volume 15, and puts Miu on the cover.

The chapter first carried the title Toward the Future (未来へ, Mirai e) before being renamed Futures For All for the collected edition.

Bee☆Pop, Makoto and Captain Celebrity are referenced rather than present in person, while Ichimoku Samazu, Jube Namimaru and Teruo Unagisawa appear in flashback, and Number 6 is invoked only in All For One's account.
