Summary

Naomasa Tsukauchi tells U.A.'s assembled faculty that nothing has surfaced about whoever hit the U.S.J. All Might offers a detail of his own: the ringleader, Tomura Shigaraki, struck him as childlike. Every villain taken in that day had sworn themselves to Tomura, and Naomasa suspects the childish streak drew them, given the pressure an age this thick with heroes puts on such people. Principal Nezu muses that such a mind might be raised into something better, then concedes the thought is naive.

In Class 1-A, Shota Aizawa announces that the Sports Festival is close and urges his students to use it to get noticed, since the country's leading pros will be watching.

Over the noon break, Ochaco Uraraka tells Izuku Midoriya and Tenya Ida that money is what she is after, calling the reason selfish. Tenya rejects the framing outright: earning a living this way is nothing to apologize for. She opens up about her family's construction business and the lack of work that has left them poor. A flashback shows a younger Ochaco asking her father to let her help, and him refusing, because he wants her chasing dreams of her own. She will make good money as a hero, she declares, and use it to ease her parents' lives.

All Might invites Izuku to lunch. Over the meal Izuku mentions a little hard-won control over his Quirk, which delights his mentor. Then comes the weight: the stint as Symbol of Peace is winding down, and what All Might wants is for Izuku to stand up at the festival and name himself the successor. The boy is left stunned.
