Summary

Shoto briefs his riders, Tenya, Denki and Momo, on formation and assignments before the round starts. Asked whether he plans to mix ice and fire to sell feints, he shuts the idea down: the fire half stays unused in a fight, period.

The whistle blows and the arena converges on Team Midoriya. Team Hagakure and Team Tetsutetsu strike first, and Izuku slips clear on a combination of Mei's Hover Boots, Zero Gravity from Ochaco and Fumikage's Dark Shadow. Tetsutetsu comes again and Dark Shadow walls him off. Team Mineta joins the pile and forces a retreat, then Katsuki dives in for Izuku personally, only for his Explosion to be swallowed by Dark Shadow.

Katsuki's own unit, Eijiro, Hanta and Mina, catches up, and Hanta's tape hauls him back into position. In that instant a Class 1-B student, Neito, lifts the headband right off him. Neito explains the trick: his class spent the Obstacle Race studying Class 1-A and built the cavalry round on what they saw. He then twists the knife by pitying Katsuki for being the villain's hostage year after year. Katsuki, incandescent, tells Eijiro the order has changed; Neito comes first, Izuku second.

Izuku tells his team the pressure should ease off now. Team Todoroki arrives to prove him wrong, with Shoto stating plainly that the ten million points are his.
