Chapter 318

A call from Endeavor opens the chapter with word that heroes from abroad now have a confirmed arrival window, which should widen the search considerably. He presses Deku to stand down and heal, but the young hero refuses on the grounds that any pause hands the enemy time to organize.

Inside the vestige realm, the earlier holders of One For All debate their successor's condition. Nana worries that her own influence weighs on him too heavily, while Daigoro counters that Deku treats every cause as worth the cost. Hikage observes that the awakened Quirks, for better or worse, let the boy chase his one real aim of saving everybody. Kudo argues the relentless pace is exactly what carrying the torch demands under these strange circumstances, though he floats an idea for propping the kid up.

Danger Sense drags Deku to a shopping mall, where he scatters a few criminals and checks on the pair they had cornered. Unnerved by the sheer number of Quirks on display, the woman asks whether he serves All For One, a suggestion he flatly rejects. Alone again, his thoughts circle the villains' whereabouts, Tomura, the League of Villains, and his refusal to burden anyone else, which leaves mastering One For All as the only path. Behind those thoughts sit the faces he misses: Eri, Gran Torino, Eraser Head, All Might, his mother, and every classmate in Class 1-A. Ending this, he decides, is how he gets back to smiling beside them.

The trail stops at the All Might statue in Kamino, where his knees buckle. Dictator steps forward and remarks that the recklessness, the isolation, and the fatigue were all forecast precisely. Instead of answering questions about his employer, the villain floods the plaza with civilians enslaved by Despot. Deku remembers this villain losing to Crust back in the Bloodless Surrender Case, and knows the grip breaks only through a heavy shock or the caster's own defeat. His gloves are gone, so Air Force is useless, Blackwhip will not come, and the crowd buries him under apologies he silently understands. Then AP Shot cracks into Dictator, and Katsuki Bakugo reports into his phone that he has found him.

Endeavor confirms that foreign heroes will soon reinforce the operation.

Deku keeps grinding himself toward collapse to shield bystanders and track the League of Villains, driven by the wish to laugh alongside his loved ones again. The vestiges discuss what they can offer him.

Dictator, the next assassin working for All For One, seizes nearby civilians with his Despot Quirk and throws them at Deku, who cannot fight back without hurting them.

Katsuki arrives and drops the villain with AP Shot.

The Japanese title "Yamikumo" doubles as the nickname that the prototype Katsuki once used for the prototype Izuku, Mikumo Akatani.

Katsuki hauling Deku out of trouble inverts the Kamino battle, in which Shoto, Momo, Eijiro, Tenya, and Izuku were the ones prying Katsuki loose from his captors.

Fifteen pages long, the chapter ran in issue 30 of 2021 and was collected in Volume 32, with Episode 135 covering it in the anime. Dictator debuts here. Horikoshi's author comment praises a new series launching from Kawaguchi, who had assisted on My Hero Academia.
