Chapter 352

On Class 1-A's last night in the Heights Alliance dorms, the boys head for the baths. Izuku voices his worry about Shoto facing Dabi, and Shoto says the choice was his. His father will be irritated that he broke his promise, so they will treat it as his punishment. Dabi is the shape their family's crimes took, he says, and reaching what he is aiming for means not running from this.

He demonstrates Flashfire Fist: Phosphor, which sends Izuku into raptures. The others mention he had been working on it while he was away, and Shoto admits the training and upkeep are still hard. He elevates his Flashfire on both sides at once, with his heart doing the work of manifesting them together, heated and chilled blood producing something like cold fire. Endeavor wanted ice as a way to restrain his inner heat, he notes, while he is running the idea in the opposite direction. More settled now about why he was born into that family, he thanks Izuku and tells him the power belongs to him.

In the present, Shoto launches Icebound Crash: Coldflame's Pale Blade and tells Dabi to cool off, which sends him flying. Dabi rights himself on his own fire and observes that Shoto has both the body to endure his heat and the ice to smother it, which makes him perfect for the job. Falling back, he says that hearing his brother sort the world into right and wrong choices proves identical blood produced two completely different people.

Shoto loses hold of Phosphor and has to restart it, and Dabi drops a hand to the ground, howling that something as warped as him could never blend with a straight rail, and that the two of them are what their superpowered society cannot fix. He drives fire into the earth and sets off volcanic eruptions across the field, telling everyone to burn for their own sake. Burnin, Kido, and Onima absorb the worst of it to shield Shoto, who apologizes and is told not to waste the energy.

Shoto thinks that the only words he owes anyone are thank you. Reclaiming himself from his blood and his history had left him convinced that everyone else was far out in front, but they had all been standing beside him the entire time, Class 1-A never leaving a single person behind. Building his fire and ice together, he drives into Dabi's chest, telling him that they will mingle regardless of his preference, and to stop, then releases Great Glacial Aegir, an enormous wave of cold fire that punches clean through his brother. The fires across Kamino freeze solid under Shoto's ice as he catches hold of the seemingly unconscious Dabi.

Phosphor is explained as circulation of heated and chilled blood through Shoto's body, producing what amounts to cold fire at his chest.

Struck by Coldflame's Pale Blade and realizing Shoto can both survive his heat and cancel his fire, Dabi releases the full extent of his flames as volcanic eruptions across the battlefield.

Remembering that his classmates never once abandoned him, Shoto releases Great Glacial Aegir, freezing the entire city and apparently neutralizing Dabi for good.

Kohei Horikoshi titled this chapter Ultimate Moves, written as Hissatsuwaza. Fifteen pages, published May 16, 2022 in issue 24, collected into volume 36, and adapted in Episode 146.

Dabi's volcanic eruption reads as his own take on Hell Minefield, an Endeavor attack that appeared in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. Horikoshi's author comment recounts a friend pointing out he was wearing the same clothes as two years earlier.
