Chapter 404: We Love You, All Might!!

Sir Nighteye's prophecy loops through All Might's head while All For One slowly pulls his body apart and death closes in. The broadcast plays on around the globe, cut with a weather segment noting a strange atmospheric current. Deku and Tomura both catch sight of Dynamight breaking out from the top of U.A., and he blasts straight down toward them.

Keeping Tomura restrained with one arm, Deku catches Dynamight with the other, and the three of them begin to spin. The Second User calls out from within One For All, warning against another Gearshift, because this time the blowback will be inescapable and the technique must be saved until the winning path is certain. Deku sees the All Might vestige dissolving and uses it anyway. Paired with Dynamight's Cluster, the wind-up flings him across the sky at staggering speed.

Tomura says it will not be enough. He explains that the All Might inside Deku used to look washed out because the man was still breathing, and now that the figure is sharpening into a solid shape, it means the end is at hand. He is pleased by it: the man sold the world a dream, and his death will finish that dream and drop everyone back into reality.

As Dynamight tears forward, Nighteye's words return to both of them, the idea that energy gathers between a clenched fist and a deep exhale, born of wishing hard enough for a particular future. The weather report echoes it, describing how a butterfly's wingbeat can raise a hurricane in Texas. With the hopes of everyone watching seemingly at his back, Dynamight remembers his own doubts about his strength and his guilt over being the reason All Might fell, then rips his mentor out of All For One's grasp. The vestige inside One For All reverts to a spirit, All Might stares at his rescuer in disbelief, and Dynamight declares it is time to win.

Deku combines Gearshift with Dynamight's Cluster to hurl him across the sky toward All Might, accepting blowback he was told to avoid.

The All Might vestige within One For All begins solidifying, a sign that they are seemingly too late.

Carried by the wishes of everyone watching, Dynamight defies Nighteye's foresight and pulls All Might free of All For One.

The vestige returns to its earlier form, confirming All Might survived.

Horikoshi's four hundred and fourth installment fills 15 pages of the fortieth collected volume, placed within the Final War arc.

It ran in issue 47 of 2023, published on October 23, and reaches the anime as Episode 162.

The chapter concludes the All Might versus All For One finale while the Deku and Tomura fight carries on. Sir Nighteye appears in flashback and shares the cover with All Might and All For One.
