Shielding a trapped civilian burns through the last of All Might's power, and the whole country watches his withered true form on live television. All For One follows the humiliation with a crueler blow about Tomura Shigaraki's family, but the cheering crowds refuse to let the Symbol of Peace fall.
Once Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu are clear of the battlefield, Shoto reaches Izuku Midoriya and learns his group made the train station. Izuku is relieved they are safe and calls the rescue a success. Eijiro Kirishima is simply glad Katsuki Bakugo is unhurt, while Katsuki insists he was never saved and only left so that All Might could fight without restraint.
Back at Kamino, All Might's face has partly slipped into its true shape, and he is furious that All For One has spoken his predecessor's name. All For One dismisses Nana Shimura as all talk, forever preaching ideals without the strength to back them, and mocks her for a shameful, embarrassing death. All Might attacks in a rage and is blasted skyward by another blast wave. Gran Torino catches him and sets him down safely, advising him to ignore the provocations and, given how differently All For One uses Quirks, to strike only when his guard drops.
News helicopters carry the fight nationwide. U.A. High School staff including Shota Aizawa, Nezu and Vlad King watch, as do students such as Ochaco Uraraka, Fumikage Tokoyami, Minoru Mineta and Yuga Aoyama. All For One decides to sever the public's faith in heroes for good, restating his hatred for the man who took something from him and wishing him the most gruesome death possible. He fires another blast wave. Spotting a civilian pinned under rubble behind him, All Might blocks it and saves the man, and the effort drains his power and strips him back to his true form. All For One savors the exposure.
The country panics at the sight, and All For One jeers at the pitiful figure before him. All Might answers that his rotting body and the world's eyes mean nothing next to a spirit that still burns. Determined to break that spirit, All For One reveals that Tomura Shigaraki is Nana's grandson. All Might refuses to believe it, and is told it is simply true. Then comes the needling about his missing smile, the smile Nana always wore, and more mockery of his condition.
The trapped civilian urges him to win and to save them. Across the country, viewers refuse to accept that he can lose; his true form does not matter to them, because he has always found a way to victory. Citizens everywhere rally behind him, Izuku and Katsuki among them. Lifted by the man beneath the rubble, All Might channels One For All through the right side of his body, restoring it to hero form, and smiles as he declares that heroes have too much to protect to lose.
Izuku's group reaches safety and the rescue is confirmed a success, with Katsuki denying he was saved at all.
