History

As siblings of the Ryu clan, Akari and Kuroma are both bound to the five Genryu, whose power Kuroma covets so he can become a dragon of light and wipe out all life. Early in the game Akari gives Naruto the Dragon Blade to face the Earth Genryu in Konoha, then joins Team Kakashi as their guide and informant through Mount Koryu.

Near the climax, as Naruto battles Kuroma and slips into a three-tailed rage, Akari begs him to spare her brother, only for the fox-driven Naruto to charge at her until Sakura's shout snaps him back to himself. The distraction lets Kuroma start the ritual to absorb the Genryu, but Akari shoves him aside and takes the power herself so she will not lose him, transforming into the Light Genryu and becoming the game's final boss. She fights through six forms, one for each element and a last light-based shape, before Naruto defeats her. Restored to normal with the Genryu gone, she and Kuroma find that their horns and his facial markings have vanished, freeing them from their role as Dragon Guardians, and the two leave together to start new lives.
