History
Daikoku's memory reaches back to Itachi's school days, and he regarded the young Uchiha as the finest pupil ever to pass through his classroom. When Sasuke enrolled years later, the teacher found himself expecting the same brilliance from the younger brother. In the anime he takes on wider duties as well. During a village-wide blackout he is one of the chunin the Fifth Hokage posts on watch in case of an attack, and in the aftermath of Pain's assault he joins fellow instructors Iruka Umino and Suzume to gather whatever teaching supplies can still be salvaged.
