A capable chunin, Ittan specializes in Earth Release, able to force the ground to rise or drop with his Moving Earth Core and to raise a protective stone dome over himself and his allies. Posted to the Surprise Attack Division, he puts these skills to great use: he plunges his squad's whole campsite underground to escape a bomb hidden on the controlled Muta Aburame, and on Kankuro's cue he thrusts the sunken earth back up to slam Sasori into it. That same dome shelters the wounded so Kiri can heal them. Later he and his unit fall paralyzed to Ibuse's Poison Mist, only for Mifune and his Fifth Division samurai to carry them off for treatment.
