Kagari

Character

Appearance

Kagari keeps brown hair in spikes beneath gear that hides most of his face. Like the rest of his squad he wears a yellow jumpsuit seamed down the front with matching sandals, a forehead protector wrapped over his entire head, a rebreather, and a cloth sash drawn across his eyes. The anime swaps this for a long-sleeved kimono top and trousers over a black bodysuit, trading the sash for a pair of eye-obscuring glasses.

Personality

He comes off as headstrong and loose with money, and, like his squadmates, he clearly enjoys a fight that costs him little effort. A capable all-rounder, he leans hardest on illusions and clones, and he keeps his eyes covered to sharpen his other senses and serve as the team's lookout.

History

During the Chūnin Exams' second phase, Kagari and his teammates blanket Team 7 and Kabuto Yakushi in layered genjutsu, hoping to drain them before striking. When they finally close in, they discover they have been battering disguised shadow clones while the real Konoha ninja rested, and the Ame trio is swiftly beaten and washed out of the exam.

The anime sends him on a second outing in the Land of Tea, where Aoi Rokushō leads the squad in rigging the Todoroki shrine race for the Wagarashi family. While Oboro delays Idate Morino, Kagari and Mubi ready a ship and sink their rival's vessel, then take the fight underwater against Team 7, holding the edge until Naruto's Rasengan training whips up a whirlpool that drags them into a trench. Their masks are assumed to have kept them alive. His skill set runs from underground earth travel to, in the anime, water clones and a flammable oil technique.
