A woman of the Uzumaki clan who settled in Kusagakure, she spent her bloodline's healing gift mending the village's wounded until the strain finally killed her. Her death passed that same grim duty straight down to her daughter, Karin.
Grey eyes and a tall, pale frame defined her, and like most of Uzumaki descent she carried vivid red hair. Hers fell straight to the chin and split into a parting that curtained each side of her face. In the same way that would later mark Karin, her body was covered in bite scars by the time she died, the residue of countless people drawing on her chakra to heal themselves.
What little the story shows of her centres on devotion to Karin. She uprooted to Kusagakure so the two of them would have somewhere stable to live, and she was ready to spend her own health, and in the end her life, to keep that home intact.
Her Uzumaki heritage gave her an extraordinarily durable life-force, translating into deep vitality, unusual longevity, and potent restorative power. Anyone who bit down on her and pulled at her chakra was healed on the spot, their injuries erased through a transfer of her own energy, and her stamina and reserves ran vast enough to sustain this again and again. The cost was twofold. Every feeding left a permanent scar, and mending a large number of people in one stretch was lethal.
Kept under Zosui's supervision in Kusagakure, she was pressed to use the gift over and over as fighting flared, and healing too many at once is what ended her. With her gone, the village leaders handed the same role to Karin.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Karin's mother was a woman of the Uzumaki clan who settled in Kusagakure and used her clan's healing ability to treat the village's wounded until the strain of the work killed her.
Karin's mother died after healing too many people in one stretch, since every use of her Uzumaki healing ability came at a physical cost; her death passed the same duty on to her daughter, Karin.
Karin's mother had grey eyes, a tall pale frame, and vivid red hair that fell straight to her chin, and by the time she died her body was covered in bite scars from people drawing on her chakra to heal.
Karin's mother uprooted to Kusagakure so that she and her daughter Karin would have a stable place to live, and she was willing to spend her health, and ultimately her life, to keep that home secure.
As a member of the Uzumaki clan, Karin's mother had an extraordinarily durable life force that let her heal anyone who bit her and drew on her chakra, instantly erasing their injuries, though the process left a permanent scar each time and healing too many people at once proved lethal.
