Kōji (Suna)

Violet eyes sit beneath a mop of untidy dark-blond hair, with the bangs sweeping across his right eye. Kōji dresses in a pale violet top layered under a brown vest, one side of which holds a pocket and the other a fastened scroll, while his forehead protector rides on the vest's back. Black gloves, dark blue shorts, and tall, open-toed boots round out the look.

Kōji shows a prickly, prideful streak. He bristles when a healed comrade turns down the scroll Ameno offers, yet reasons that pocketing anything from a wounded ally would earn him no end of grief back home. He can also be dismissive, mocking a group of fellow Suna ninja for failing to grasp the hazards of their own desert.

Kōji's fighting style revolves around controlling sand. Given enough of it nearby, he can raise a range of forms to press an attack or guard himself, from heavy mallets to solid shields. His physical power runs high, whether he is swinging those grit-built weapons or planting himself to halt an enlarged fist from Chōji Akimichi. That clash came during the Chūnin Exams, when his three-man cell reached Konohagakure and later met Team Asuma inside the Demon Desert. After Ameno's offer to trade passage for a scroll was refused, Kōji took Chōji on directly, though the two found themselves outmatched by their rivals' taijutsu, and his squad was eventually beaten once Ino Yamanaka's sensing broke through Shishio's concealment.
