Background

Mokume earns his living as a construction worker in Konohagakure. The day before the village's Barrier Team was set to trial an upgraded sensing system, a co-worker gave him a lift to a Thunder Train station, from which he set off by rail to attend a friend's wedding held beyond the village.

Trouble surfaced on the day of the trial. Although Mokume was far from home, the sensors picked up his chakra signature inside Konoha, a false reading planted by Hyoi Yorishiro, who could replicate another person's chakra. Inojin Yamanaka noticed that something about the signal did not add up, and the inquiry that followed uncovered the deception and led to Hyoi's arrest.
