Naori Uchiha

Wavy purple hair worn long marked Naori, with cut bangs draped over her Konohagakure forehead protector, which showed only the Leaf emblem. She dressed in the clan's traditional mantle, its Uchiha crest displayed on the back, and carried two swords fastened to her left hip beneath layers of bandages.

Composure defined Naori, who held her calm even while trading blows with a friend and fellow member of her clan. Warmth and selflessness ran just as deep in her: rather than strike down Naka, she chose a method that spared his life and gave up one of her own eyes so that he might come to accept his fate.

Naori ranked among the powerful shinobi of her time. Her handling of a sword pointed to real ability with kenjutsu, and she awakened the clan's dojutsu, the Sharingan, eventually reaching the Mangekyo Sharingan as well. Her version broke from most known forms in that its colors were reversed, its pattern splitting into three like a flower of three petals. She could also call on the Uchiha forbidden technique Izanami, which locks its target inside a looping genjutsu that offers no escape until the victim accepts who they truly are.

Naori's close companion Naka Uchiha commanded Izanagi and slowly fell under the spell of its power. Set on rescuing him, she turned Izanami against him to force him to recognize his errors and embrace fate. The effort worked, and Naka finally accepted the truth, breaking the unending cycle the technique had trapped him within. Her fate afterward is uncertain, but she is thought to have died around the time of the Uchiha Clan Downfall, sharing the fate of her kinsmen. Written as a word meaning recovery, her name likely nods to her wish to save her clan from its hunger for power, and she stands with Itachi, Kagami, and Shisui among the rare Uchiha who never appeared to yield to the clan's Curse of Hatred despite personal loss and an awakened Sharingan.
