Personality

Survival outranks everything for Rokuro, who lies and manipulates without hesitation and thinks nothing of throwing others to their deaths to save his own skin. History

Having turned on his home village, Rokuro drew a bounty and was eventually taken by the hunter Anaguma and his partner, all while hiding an injury he refused to reveal. He anticipated no better than a life sentence once returned. The seals binding him and the reward on his head hint at just how dangerous he is. From his mouth he can spit grey parasites that burrow into a body to seize control of it or kill it, and much like Jūgo he can reshape his arms into enormous blades. His endurance is considerable: he shrugged off a Vanishing Rasengan to the face and pushed through Boruto's Lightning Release: Thunderclap Arrow, buckling only when a Rasengan struck his stomach.

Pulled from a Thunder Train, Rokuro woke inside a maze built by Ōga, where Anaguma warned the others never to trust him. Through Ōga's grim experiments he lived up to that warning, dropping Anaguma to his fate, ignoring Kakesu after she freed him, and telling Boruto outright that he would spend any life but his own. He exposed a disguised Kusa-nin as Ōga's agent and infected him to force a confession, seized and snuffed out a girl's candle so his own would outlast an ascent, and fought Kiseru for a wall alcove during a crushing-ceiling trial.

The final test, called Calculation, required collecting numbered cards summing to seven within a time limit. Holding only a one, Rokuro looted cards from Batta's and Fugō's corpses and refused Boruto's plan to pool cards for the group, reasoning that killing everyone would satisfy Ōga fastest. He battled Boruto and forced Namua to attack under his parasite, but Namua broke free to shield Boruto, who then downed Rokuro and handed him a six so he could pass. Only later did everyone learn the whole ordeal had unfolded within a genjutsu while they lay in suspended animation, with Yatsume revealed as Ōga; once she woke and freed them all, Anaguma and his partner reclaimed custody of Rokuro.
