Sagiri
CharacterSagiri was a merchant admitted into the Nadeshiko Village who fell deeply in love with the kunoichi Shizuka. Because local custom barred the two from being together, he swore to overturn the laws he saw as absurd, a defiance that ended with his death at the hands of those guarding the village's traditions.
Appearance
Long brown hair reached down past Sagiri's brow, its fringe stopping just short of his matching brown eyes. His clothing was plain: a brown shirt with long sleeves, a black V-neck worn beneath it, and simple trousers.
Personality
Sagiri's devotion to Shizuka ran deep, and he was willing to stand against her entire village to secure a life at her side. Stubbornly resolved, he refused to accept customs he judged unfair and set out to rewrite them so that the two could finally be at peace together.
History
Though he and Shizuka loved one another fiercely, the rules and customs of the Nadeshiko Village kept them apart, and Sagiri pledged to do whatever it took to change them. He was instead ambushed and slain, his defeat presented as proof that he lacked the strength to be worthy of her. Tokiwa later suspected an uglier truth: that the village elders, anxious about its future, had arranged to have him killed. His name carries the sense of haze and is shared with a Japanese destroyer.
