Personality

Energetic and endlessly curious about her classmates' comings and goings, Soul keeps close tabs on the life of her class. Her short fuse can hold a grudge for a long while; she once refused to study with Ehō Norimaki until a teacher talked her out of the feud. She idolises Might Guy, tucking his photo inside a locket, and thrives on camaraderie, whether trading rounds of Extreme: Shinobi Picture Scrolls or clapping friends on the shoulder over a win. Praise for her cooking delights her. Beneath the warmth runs a sharp competitive edge, and her anger can turn physical, intimidating even the older and larger Kawaki, whom she has been known to throw when provoked.

History

Soul joins the incoming Academy class overseen by the new instructor Hana Kaka, a room that gathers the daughter of an acting duo, the Seventh Hokage's daughter, Kae Yukiwari the princess of the Land of Bamboo, and the notably older Kawaki. Physically strong and a deft hand with shuriken, she is also a skilled cook whose curry wins Kawaki over. She applauds Kae for dropping a prim facade at a tea party, quarrels with Ehō over whether a snack breaks the rules of a fasting exercise Team 7 sets, then reconciles at Hana's blossom-viewing. Teamed with Harika and Kawaki for practical lessons, she grows frustrated as Kawaki's distraction drags them down, though his afternoon effort partly redeems the day. Her class rehearses a play about the Sannin and weathers a terrorist threat at their festival, after which she visits the injured Hana. During survival training on a remote island, Soul helps hunt for scattered food and a lost drone, and when the truth surfaces that Hana is an assassin who killed Kae, the students band together to track her down. Kawaki reveals himself as a shinobi, Hana's buried teacher persona wins out over the killer with her students' encouragement, and the class at last stages the Sannin play before seeing Kae off at the station.
