Susuki is a stocky man with a broad face and small, beady eyes, his neck-length brown hair falling thick enough to cover his ears. He dresses in the guards' customary garb, a green vest over a white shirt with purple hakama, sandals and a tall hat, and carries a quiver slung across his back.
Personality
His devotion to Shion knows few limits. He drives himself through three days without sleep on guard duty and steps down only when directly told to, and though warned that his end has been foretold, he never wavers in his readiness to die for the priestess.
History
Susuki carries the standard weapons of Shion's guard, a jian, a bow and a quiver of arrows. He first appears nodding off on duty after three sleepless nights, relenting to rest only when Taruho frames it as an order and takes over the watch. When the Gang of Four comes hunting the priestess, the two hurry to her chamber to spirit her away. Taruho urges him to hang back, mindful of the death Shion has foreseen for him, but Susuki refuses. He is struck down shielding her from a hail of thrown weapons, and with his last words he charges Taruho to keep Shion safe.
