A Konoha kunoichi of Team Guy, Tenten devotes herself to perfecting weapons and sealing techniques in pursuit of becoming a legend on par with Tsunade. Once the great war ends, she runs a weapon shop of her own and takes up duties as a Chūnin Exams proctor.
Two Chinese-style buns hold up Tenten's hair, black with grey eyes in the manga but both rendered dark brown in the anime, short bangs sitting over her brow; that look stays steady through Parts I and II. Her clothes nod repeatedly to Chinese style: early on a sleeveless qipao-style top with dark pants, and later a high-collared white blouse trimmed in maroon, fingerless gloves, and bandage-covered hakama trousers, a big scroll typically riding on her back. Through the war she switches to the regulation Konoha flak jacket with a pair of small scrolls at her waist.
In The Last, her buns gain braids and a short plait hanging just past the shoulders, and she wears a white qipao dress cinched by a maroon obi over fishnet stockings and heeled boots, scrolls circling her wrists like bracelets. Grown up, she goes back to something near her Part II outfit but with peach-toned pants, adding dangling tassel earrings.
Naturally curious and observant, Tenten clings to a dream of joining the ranks of legendary kunoichi like Tsunade, which once had her arguing hotly that girls match boys in taijutsu after Neji doubted it. Weakness and leaning too hard on others earn her scorn, and though she can flare up fiercely, she is kind to her friends and quick to console them when times turn rough.
Her boisterous teammates, Guy and Lee above all, regularly leave her worn out and wishing they would grow up, a wish her Infinite Tsukuyomi dream makes plain, and yet she treasures them. A devoted collector, she gathers ninja tools from every corner of the world as a pastime, one that swelled into a fully stocked shop, and she keeps a fascination with ghosts and the spirits said to lurk in old houses.
Her team rates her skills highly. By Part II she had made chūnin, able to lean on her teammates and put pressure on someone as dangerous as Kisame Hoshigaki, and in adulthood she won renown for her grasp of space-time ninjutsu, calling up puppets in numbers over great distances without even needing chakra threads. Fūinjutsu forms the heart of her craft: she packs vast stores of weapons into scrolls, then unseals them at varying force to rain down on enemies, sometimes fitting them with explosive tags or steering their flight by wire.
Moves such as the Twin Rising Dragons send weapons flying in quick succession, while larger scrolls drop a storm of arms from overhead or let loose a fire dragon that bursts on contact and a shielding metal dome; she can even seal away something as huge as a ship or a whole body of water. Praised as a marksman who lands every shot, by adulthood she counts as the village's premier weapons user, comfortable with tools from the manriki-gusari and bō to the Jidanda and Bashōsen, and she shines as a strategist and support for allies who fight up close.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
