Tetsuru is a captive held at Orochimaru's Southern Hideout. Worn down by fear of his jailer, he had given up on any future, until Suigetsu Hozuki arrives with word that Orochimaru is dead and offers the prisoners their freedom.
Tetsuru has short, light brown hair over dark eyes, and a bandage wraps his head. He wears the plain prisoner's uniform of a white T-shirt and trousers, his jaw shadowed with rough, neglected stubble.
Dread of Orochimaru hangs over Tetsuru so heavily that escape never even crosses his mind. He carries a bleak outlook, the hope drained out of his gaze.
When Suigetsu Hozuki comes to the hideout, Tetsuru presses him about the rumors that Sasuke Uchiha has struck Orochimaru down. Suigetsu confirms it and, to the prisoner's disbelief, tells the captives they are free to go. The one string attached is that they spread news of Orochimaru's fall, a bargain Tetsuru takes up gladly.
