Appearance

A tall figure, the Third had unsettling eyes with black sclerae and no visible pupils, along with long black hair that spilled down his back and a ring of pearl-like beads circling his head. His clothing followed Kirigakure's standard pattern, pinstriped guards on the arms and legs beneath a sleeveless haori with frayed hems and a poncho-style scarf at his neck. By the time he died he had grown noticeably old, his skin lined and creased, frown marks set around his mouth, and his hair faded to a much paler tone.

Abilities

Concrete details of what the Third could do are scarce, but his selection as Kage speaks for itself, since the Mist crowns only its strongest fighter. Even before taking the office he had been trusted enough to serve as bodyguard to the First Mizukage. Because the title in Kiri customarily passes to the finest swordsman around, it follows that his kenjutsu was formidable.

History

He was present at the very first Five Kage Summit, standing at the First Mizukage's side and watching the talks unfold with close attention. In time he took over leadership of Kirigakure, stepping into the role after Gengetsu Hozuki was killed in combat against the Tsuchikage Mu. Long after his death, once Kaguya Otsutsuki had been sealed away by Naruto and Sasuke, Hagoromo Otsutsuki called his soul back from the Pure Land together with the other fallen Kage. United with the Hokage, they summoned Team 7, the tailed beasts, and Madara out of Kaguya's dimension, and afterward his spirit was sent to rest once more. Notably, of the bodyguards who attended the first summit alongside their village founders, he was the only one who did not go on to become his village's Second Kage, though he did rise to the position of Third.
