Appearance

Her long black hair falls in a single braid down her back, with jaw-length bangs parted to frame her face, and her eyes are dark. On duty she layers a flak jacket over a short-sleeved blouse, pairs it with shorts, and wraps her legs in bandages. Off the clock she trades this for a plain red dress worn under a white blouse that bares one shoulder. Though her exact skills go unrecorded, her rank of at least chunin marks her as a capable fighter.

Personality

Gentle and tender by nature, Tsubaki adores Mizuki even as she comes to despise the man Orochimaru's influence has made of him. Love pushes her to cling to the belief that he can still be reached, so she keeps his schemes from the village despite the risk. She pleads for his surrender and repentance right through his growing cruelty toward her. Only once he is beaten does she seem to release him, resolving to begin anew after answering for her part in his crimes. Mizuki had fed her a slanted picture of Naruto as a villain, but watching Naruto stake his life for Konoha shows her those claims were prejudiced lies.

History

Tsubaki knew her fiance had met with Orochimaru and meant to steal the Scroll of Seals as an offering, yet she said nothing, trusting he would eventually see reason. After Mizuki broke out of the Konoha Strict Correctional Facility, he arrived at her home on the village's edge with the Legendary Stupid Brothers in tow. She supplied them fresh clothes and food, and at first he treated her kindly, but the warmth vanished once he declared he would press on toward Orochimaru and even tried to take her along.

When she begged him to stop and challenged his grudge against the boy who had risked everything during Orochimaru's assault, Mizuki struck her unconscious, making plain his feelings were gone. Tsubaki then caught up with Naruto and Iruka Umino, confessed what she had hidden, and asked to help set things right by stopping Mizuki. With him defeated, she admitted to Iruka she would answer for her involvement but was ready to start over.
