Tsuchinoe is a kunoichi who once served in Root, the shadowy Anbu division commanded by Danzo. Utterly obedient to her master, she takes part in a failed plot to assassinate Hiruzen and keep him from reclaiming the title of Hokage.
Purple hair falling to her shoulders sits beneath Tsuchinoe's bear-shaped Anbu mask, which bears red markings and a scar-like pattern running from the left eye hole down to the cheek. Otherwise she wears the standard Anbu uniform.
Her loyalty to Danzo is absolute. She carries out whatever he asks without question.
As a Root operative, and presumably a capable kunoichi who fights with a sword, Tsuchinoe is handed a mission by Danzo alongside nine other members: kill Hiruzen to stop his return as Hokage. Taking the guise of a foreign kunoichi, she clashes with an Anbu guarding her target, only to find she is fighting a disguised Kakashi, and the attempt collapses. Her name surfaced only through a Studio Pierrot design sheet of Root members.
