Danger: Jinpachi and Kushimaru!

On the move, Kakashi learns that Sai has sealed one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and receives further intelligence from headquarters before hurrying toward the sound of fighting. He arrives to find Jinpachi Munashi and Kushimaru Kuriarare, both indignant that he carries the Kubikiribōchō. As the fight starts, the two reincarnated Kirigakure shinobi hack through each other without hesitation in their drive to reach Kakashi.

Kakashi is not left alone for long, as Might Guy joins him, and together they take on the swordsmen after Kakashi rouses an unconscious kunoichi named Ran on the battlefield and tells her to escape. During the exchange, Jinpachi's explosion briefly blinds Kakashi, yet he and Guy fight on, recalling a past mission they once shared with Rin Nohara. The two hold off the Kiri-nin's assault until Ran returns with the Sealing Team, who swiftly seal Kushimaru and Jinpachi away.

Kakashi and Might Guy confront the reincarnated swordsmen Jinpachi and Kushimaru, with Kakashi briefly blinded by an explosion. Kakashi wakes the kunoichi Ran and sends her to safety. Ran returns with the Sealing Team, who seal both swordsmen and end the fight.

The episode is a Shippūden installment set during the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation. Its opening theme is If and the ending theme is MOTHER. It aired in Japan on November 8, 2012, and in English on April 4, 2015. Trivia notes that Kakashi's flashback wrongly shows a three-tomoe Sharingan, since he gained the third only after Rin's death.
