Summary

With Rock Lee knocked out, Sakura is left to shield herself and her downed comrades. The Sound genin Kin Tsuchi grabs a fistful of her hair and sneers that she wastes her time fussing over appearances. The taunt pushes Sakura to slice through her own hair, breaking free of the hold.

Now loose, she takes on Zaku Abumi with a run of substitutions, cutting at him with a kunai and clamping onto him with a bite to lock down one arm as she pins him. The tide turns against her all the same, and Zaku hammers at her head until blood is drawn. Watching from cover, Team 10 sees her plight, and Ino drifts back to their shared childhood before the group rushes in to save her, Ino declaring she vowed never to be outdone by her friend.
