Still shaken by a teammate's death and his newly awakened Sharingan, a young Itachi joins Shisui for a training exercise that turns into a real skirmish with Root, deepening the bond that will shape his path.
In the Uchiha District, Fugaku tends the fish and speaks with Itachi about the Sharingan before heading off. Itachi masks his resentment that his father shows no concern over Tenma Izumo's death. When Sasuke asks to play, Itachi begs off for a mission, and Shisui arrives to collect him. The two set out on a three-stage training drill, shadowing a fugitive through the day and spotting the decoys planted along the trail. Come nightfall they share a meal and talk, the loss of Tenma still heavy on Itachi, who confides that he has awakened his Sharingan.
The pair hear fighting and come upon three Root operatives assailing a Konoha Anbu over a scroll naming a traitor. The cornered Anbu proves to be a water clone that dissolves, the real one already poisoned, leaving the Root agents unbothered. Shisui and Itachi engage, Itachi turning one operative's own trap back on her while Shisui overwhelms the rest, forcing a retreat. A signal ends the exercise, and the wounded Anbu asks that the encounter stay quiet, with Shisui's superiors relieved no one was seriously hurt despite the unplanned clash.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Drawn from the Itachi Shinden Book: Light and Darkness arc, the episode traces the early Itachi and Shisui friendship. Shisui treats a minor cut of Itachi's, who is still adjusting to the lag between his Sharingan's vision and his reactions, and walks him home to talk over the day. Years later, Itachi enters the Anbu to guard Konoha from the shadows. Animators left a couple of errors, drawing his Sharingan with three tomoe instead of two and, in another shot, deactivated despite being active in the fight.
