Recovering at Tazuna's home, Kakashi realizes Zabuza only faked his death and will surely return. With a rematch looming, he sends Team 7 into the woods to master a tree-climbing exercise built entirely on chakra control.
Carried to Tazuna's house to recover from straining his Sharingan, Kakashi wakes and pieces together that Zabuza's death rang false, guessing it was staged. He proves right: the hunter-nin, Haku, brings Zabuza back and reveals that the two work together, and Zabuza vows to finish Kakashi at their next meeting. Both men need roughly a week to heal from their clash.
Kakashi observes that Naruto is at last starting to grasp real teamwork, and he recognises that of everyone present, Naruto holds the largest reserve of chakra.

Kakashi Hatake pieces together that Zabuza Momochi's death rang false and guesses it was staged. He is proven right when the hunter-nin Haku brings Zabuza back and reveals the two have been working together all along.
Kakashi Hatake takes Team 7 into the forest to teach them how to climb vertical surfaces using only chakra control, with no hands. The exercise is meant to prepare Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura for Zabuza's return.
Sakura is the first of Team 7 to master the tree-climbing exercise, getting it right on her very first attempt. Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha both need far more practice to manage it.
Watching the training, Kakashi Hatake notices that Naruto Uzumaki is finally starting to grasp real teamwork. He also recognizes that Naruto holds the largest chakra reserve of anyone on the team.
