Gameplay

EX 2 keeps EX's motion controls and adds danger zones, stage hazards such as spiked walls that punish anyone who touches them, plus a hand seal system: holding the dodge and throw buttons together lets a player enter a stance and flick the Wii Remote and Nunchuk through three directions to restore chakra, boost attack power, or trigger a transformation for certain characters. Stage hazards can be switched off entirely for players who find them intrusive.

Roster & Story

The roster grows to roughly 30 fighters and folds in Sasuke Uchiha, Sai, Yamato, Asuma Sarutobi, and Sasori in his true puppet form, alongside returning cast members redesigned in their timeskip look. The story content spans from the Kazekage Rescue arc through the Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance mission.

Series Context

Like its predecessor, EX 2 stayed a Japan exclusive, though its hand seal mechanic later carried over into Clash of Ninja Revolution 2's engine for Western audiences, one of several gameplay ideas the two parallel Wii series traded despite using different rosters and stories.
