Team 7 (Konohamaru)

This Leaf Village cell answers to Konohamaru Sarutobi and was first labelled Team 3. When Sarada, at one point ready to leave over friction with Boruto, smoothed things over with him, the group instead petitioned to have their number changed to Team 7 to match the squad their parents had belonged to. Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki form the core, with Kawaki later brought in as an honorary member.

The team qualified for the Chunin Exams and advanced to the finals, though the strike by Momoshiki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki left none of them promoted. They came close to being dissolved after all three left the village without clearance to intervene in Iwagakure's internal politics, an act that stripped their genin ranks until the Fourth Tsuchikage's praise for their nobility earned reinstatement. A first attempt at a B-rank job then fell apart when Boruto broke away to rescue Tento Madoka from the Mujina Bandits and his teammates chose to go with him, forcing the mission's abandonment and a measure of discipline from their captain.

Their casework ranges across many jobs: driving bandits out of the Green Banks, chasing the Byakuya Gang, guarding film actors alongside Team 10, capturing train robbers, and a failed bid to protect the informant Kokuri, whom Shojoji killed while disguised. After Kawaki helped rescue the Seventh Hokage he was given his honorary place, and when Boruto's Kama was found to be reviving Momoshiki, the squad was pulled from active duty for safety. Once Kawaki formally reached genin rank, the team escorted Katasuke to Kirigakure and was drawn into the war between the village and the Funato clan, a long conflict Boruto eventually defused by reasoning with Araumi's son, Ikada.

In later assignments the cell keeps watch over the Otsutsuki pair Ada and Daemon and moves to rescue Gaara and Shinki from the Human God Trees. During the clash with Boro, Sarada took command as acting leader under the reborn Team 7 banner, and against the God Trees she awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan to destroy one of them, with Boruto arriving in time to save Konohamaru from being consumed.

Konohamaru Sarutobi leads the team, with Sarada Uchiha stepping up as acting captain in his absence and Sasuke Uchiha named a novel-only mentor. Boruto Uzumaki carries his father's drive along with the burden of the Kama mark, Sarada wields the Sharingan while setting her sights on the Hokage seat, and Mitsuki, Orochimaru's son, completes the trio. Kawaki begins as an honorary member and is later permanently integrated.
