A Dreadful Visitor!!

Zaku, whose arms remain wrecked from his earlier clash with Sasuke, hears Shino advise him to withdraw before those limbs suffer further harm. Unwilling to accept the suggestion as charity, Zaku channels cutting gusts through the vents of his one functioning palm and aims them at his opponent. Away from the ring, Kakashi clamps down on the mark scorched into Sasuke's neck, only for Orochimaru to appear and dismiss the effort. The Sannin insists the boy's Sharingan is destined to become his regardless of any counter-seal. When Kakashi presses him about the fate of Zaku's squad, Orochimaru coldly admits he has lost all interest in them.

Zaku finds himself hemmed in on every side by Shino's swarming insects. Unable to sweep them away with a single working arm, he frees his damaged one to attack from both sides at once. The instant he forces air out of both palms, the tubes rupture and his arms are torn apart, because the bugs had crawled inside and blocked the openings. Shino secures the victory and advances.

The installment is the sixty-ninth chapter of the series, gathered in the eighth volume as part of the Chūnin Exams storyline. It first ran in Japan during 2001. Viz Media published the chapter under the alternate title The Deadly Visitor!!.
