Summary

Guy brings Kisame down, and with the swordsman knocked out and bound by Yamato's Wood Release, Aoba begins pulling memories from his past. Those recollections reach back to Kisame's days serving Kirigakure, where he guarded the Cypher Division and cut down his own comrades once he feared the secret codes might leak. He later turned on a superior who had betrayed the village and claimed the man's blade, Samehada, as his own. When the Fourth Mizukage came to him, their conversation led Kisame to sum up his whole existence as one enormous falsehood. He then noticed a hidden figure pulling the Mizukage's strings, a man who pledged to free him from that web of lies and named himself Madara Uchiha. In the present, Kisame bites down on his tongue and wrenches himself loose from the restraints.
